Once more, dear people, when asking questions please provide as much salient information as possible. For example, Skape should have specified a platform.

Assuming we are talking about Win32, I use a combination of a CD ripper to provide the digital hard copy, and then use an MP3 compressor to polish the files. There are all-in-one s/wares available, but when I last bothered to do some research a few months ago, the final quality wasn't as good as a two-stage operation. Go here and check out some of the links. There are some good review of different versions. Personally, I use audiograbber to rip the CDs and Fraunhofers L3enc to compress to MP3.

CDex is free, and is an all in one solution, including CCDB. Works great!
