yup, i have major quarrels with both.
Netscape crashes WAY too much, and talkback, their little add on to relay feedback about crashes CAUSES CRASHES ITSELF!
IE loads shit WAAAAY TOOO SLOW! Anyone who uses both, like web programmers, can vouch for this. Also it renders fonts and tables funny, which is another case of Microsoft trying to set their own standard.
Overall, I prefer Netscape, and im not necessarily a Microsoft basher, I just dont need that much babysitting and im not happy that they are the reason I am restricted as a web programmer because they decided to change the industry standard against W3's recommendations. Also, did i mention Visual C++ code wont compile in Borland or other compilers and vice versa? Microsoft decided to change the language, they decided to set the standard EVEN THOUGH HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE <B>DONATED</B> THOUSANDS OF HOURS OF THEIR TIME TO MAKE A STANDARD! Microsoft decided they wanted to make the standard. Ok, I am a Microsoft basher, fuck them. They are the reason you see "best if viewed with Internet Explorer" tags everywhere, they refuse to cooperate, people try to set standards and Microsoft WILL NOT COMPLY!.
I tried to back Microsoft for a long time, but its just not possible anymore.
Anyways, ive never had IE crash that i can remember, and NN crashes alot and its annoying. I dont know what your prob is, but seems IE lags alot, well it does. If i have IE and NN open at the same time and hit refresh on both, NN will load twice as fast as IE, are you sure youre connecting to a legit page? Are you sure you're not in offline mode? I dont know, ive had a similar prob with a firewall where links that opened in a new window wouldnt load, and id have to copy the link and paste it into location for it to load. Dont know of a fix though...
ps. that reminds me, if you right click a pic in Netscape you can select 'Copy image location' -- god thats nice.
p.s.s. in IE view source opens in a real text editor rather than that static piece of shit display NN uses WHICH PULLS CACHE PAGES SOMETIMES!
P.S.S.S. I HATE ALL BROWSERS!
