i think whats happenening is, while your count is incrementing, the page(s) you were viewing hadnt changed. The html file for a particular thread is only rewritten when someone replies.

just a little while ago I logged into the forum and noticed all my colors had changed. I tried to fix it using that little bucket in 'Paint' (hahaha .. that was funny) but it doesn't seem to work. how do I get my old colors back?
