Can't access DOS during boot.

I keep pressing F8 when I boot, and the screen where I should be able to boot in DOS mode doesn't show it as an option. It used to, but now all of a sudden it doesn't. How can I fix it?

I don't think itsa possible in Win ME . MS wanted to rid the boot sequence of DOS in order to con everyone into thinking it did not exist anymore. ALthough try Gotaboy's suggestion.

The ctrl button thing doesn't work.

It let me boot into DOS mode a couple weeks ago, but now it won't.

Is it possible to make a boot floppy that will boot up in DOS mode?

Indeed it is. Do a search on the net, there will be bootdisks out there for you to copy.

winME tosses the DOS

wait til it loads then
start menu>programs>accessories>msprompt

sucks, you have to do everything from there

The answer is, always dual boot with a DOS partition.

I think I might download that, but I may just stick to using a system boot disk. My mom would freak out over that "emergency" message.
