Salvage mission!!

ok i got a old laptop that i used for my digital cam mainly and it had a bad crash and has a bad sector or two.... i need ideas on how to ... A. fix without format... B. Get files off and format...

i can only get to Safe mode command prompt only... nothing else...

any ideas?

Have you run 'Scandisk' from the command prompt?

i *can*run it but it dies at 68% ; { and looking at the page thx... but it don't look good ATM

you can get the bad sectors marked if you do a scandisk /surface in a command prompt, but if you can only get to 68% you're probably fucked.

Run it as a slave drive and scan it.

Pull the data off that way.
