missing device drivers

ok i put a cd in the drive it doesnt run.i go to MY COMPUTER and see the D:\ drive icon is missing.i go to device manager and it isnt listed anymore.i go to ADD HARDWARE in control panel select manually pick drive drivers[mitsumi 50x] and the damn thing freezes.i just bought black and white please make it work again.ps-d;\autorun dont work either.

First thing to do is open up the machine and check connections.

just did,only electrocuted myself once.everything is connected.its getting power too.audio cds work if i use the button on the drive though it use to open it up in winanp.not anymore.i tried the button thing with cd-rom no dice.
