Mine's a super-sexy aluminum case, but it's hard to work with, and cooling sucks. The only way I have room for an intake fan is to leave the bottom two 5.25" bays open and put an 80mm fan in there. After I find the right piece of metal to mount that and my voltage regulator to, it's gonna look hella sweet, though!
What brand PS do you have? Is it AMD approved? And what are your temps in that case?

I'm getting a new case, aluminum, but I'm making sure there's cooling (comes with 3 80mm fans).
My case is some plastic green cover shit that I'd gotten before I really understood about cooling. Of course, I'd never realized that it only has room for one fan, and that blows right against a plastic wall anyway. The people who designed it are total fucking morons.
Temps inside the case? I'm too afraid to put the side back on for fear of frying the CPU, so I have no clue. I once saw how high it was and decided I would run it in the open until I got a new case, but I can't for the life of me remember what the temp of it was. Sorry.
My PS came with my crappy case. Channel Well Technology, 300w. It is AMD approved.

My system is nothing to boast about, but it does its job.
its a k6 300, with 128Mb ram, and an 8Gb HD. its got a 2MB generic PCI graphics card, and a 12Mb voodoo II (which runs at about 30Mhz over what it should do), a 12x CDrom drive, and some crappy yamaha sound card. It is more than enough for it to run my os (Soupped up win95, dual boot with openBSD 2.8) with no problems at all, faster infact than i have seen more powerful systems run more bloated operating systems. The machine is largley built into an open top blue plastic stacking boxm and has no issues with cooling.
Its networked through a P166MMX, with 64Mb ram, no HD, and a 1Mb graphics card, which acts quite nicley as a linux-ipchains firewall between me and the outside world via the reliable US Robotics 56k i have

What cases are you looking at? I'd suggest a Lian Li. And don't be concerned about how many fans a case COMES with, unless you know they're high performance fans. Just make sure you have enough room to add what you want. With a high performance HSF, an 80mm intake, and an 80mm exhaust, you should be cool. (HA! A pun is me!)
You won't hurt anything until you get about 60 degrees Celsius or so.

Thanks for the info about temps. Good to know. Next time I get a chance, I'll check the system temp. I sorta miss the proggie I had that let me do it outside the bios, but I misplaced it. Do you know of one?
I'm getting a Lian Li PC60. The reason I care how many fans mine comes with is simply that I know I'll have space for 3 good fans if the ones that it comes with aren't good enough.
As for fans, I'll deal with what it gives me till I find better. My friend's a big tweaker, so he knows cooling much better than I do. I'm sure he'll hook me up with some good fans for my case.

I'd suggest sunon denki's, myself. But since you'll have an excellent case, you could get away with some super quiet panaflo's.
What kind of HS and fan are you using, anyway?

Go with YSTech fans(!) and dont forget to move the voltage regulator switch. Its a bitch to use (youve got to take the front bezel off).
Edit:
And since Lians dont come with powersupplies go get yourself an Enermax model. It has dual fans so youd be killing two 'birds with one busted clip.

Why that choice of fan, yMQ?
I've got the Enermax PS with side intake...I've been trying to do research to see how much good it actually does.
Enermax makes a good case, but Lian Li's (in my opinion) are still the best. I wish I could have afforded one.
And what two birds would you be killing with the dual fan PS? That second fan won't make up for not having a front intake. I just don't know how much it does help.

Because theyre quieter than deltas and generally cheaper than 'flos. All in all, great little fans.

Lians are in a class of their own (well, with coolermaster anyway) and quite nice. I bought the tower (70) but found it to be a bit flimsy so I went back to an old addtronics I was using.

This was actually a joke, making fun of a friend of mine who burnt up two brand new palaminos on his also brand new tyan duallie board. Hehheh. He damn near cried when he saw that the hedgehogs he was using came off because of busted retainer clips. Poor sucker.

My heat sink is a copper orb. It seems to work pretty well, I guess. I don't know all that much about heat sinks.
Thanks for the info on the fans. Quiet panaflo's sound really good to me.
