Exclamation Cleansing a laptop

I was fired today and have to return (this) laptop to work tomorrow. I've had it at home for a year now, and I've never used it for work. There are all kinds of unsavory things on it. Short of reformatting the harddrives, what's the best way to cleanse it of any programs I've installed or modifications I've made? Oh, it's a Dell Latitude running Win2KPro. Thanks.

Poop was her name, but I didn't care. That's the thing about poop: it makes one apathetic.

Formatting the hard drive.

No, really.

Norton Security can write random things across the surface of the drive, too.

place it between two pieces of metal
wrap the entire thing tightly between a 2inch thick coil of wire
plug the wire into an outlet

Check for some sort of restore CD that will change everything back to factory settings. Other brands have them, but I don't know about dell.

Other than that, get to deleting.

Remove the hard drive and drop it over and over again until it doesn't work anymore. They fired you. Fuck them.

The dell laptop should have come with a recovery CD. I only know this because of the laptops that we use within my company are Dell Inspirons'. Just drop that in and it should work perfectly for you
