I could be wrong, but I believe the book was based on the screenplay.

When that happens the movie usually is better.

the book came out in 96. yeah i'm almost at the end, i'm sure it will be more profound, some idiot already told me he kills himself at the end, and i will give the book credit for certain things, but i'm 75% through the book, and i enjoyed the movie all. i thought the book would have been twice as long. oh well

I read the book after I saw the movie and really, really, really wished that hadn't been the case. I think the movie did an excellent job of interpretting the abruptness and disjointed feeling of the book, but I really would like to have seen how I pictured it in my head, based on the writing. Having seen the movie first, I couldn't help but picture it the way they portrayed it.

read chuck palinuiks other books...survivor and invisible monsters... they are all good... i love the end of fight club the book...i wish they would have put that one in the movie.
