Is this legal....

Ok.....burning copies of a really hot/expenisive peice of software, and hang out in a store.......and when people start to buy it tell them..

Hey, want to come to a party? Its (less than software costs) and you get a free copy of (insert software here)....

telling them that isn't, but giving out the software is. it would get iffy when you say you weren't charging for the software, but those issues are being decided now with napster. i say do it fast and do it discreetly, or get caught and make a big deal out of it and get some book rights.

its not completely illegal. thats how scalpers sell tickets. giving away the software may be illegal, but im not sure. fuck, thats a good idea.

Don't be a dick please. The average IQ of this forum, I think, is higher than that of the world as a whole. Let's not try to change that. If you copy a piece of software without the express consent of the legal copyright holder, that is breaking the law.

If you want a good office package, for free, and you want it legally, then don't be a dick and start trying to trawl crap warez sites.

Go here and get Sun's 'StarOffice' for free. It started originally as a *nix office package, but has now been ported to all major platforms. The wordprocessor / spreadsheet / database / presentation packages in it can all read and save files in the corresponding word / excel / access / powerpoint formats.
