heh, I was wondering why this place was so dead. thanks for reviving it morgana.
grr.. I don't feel like doing (have to take out < and > or else it fucks up) "font" and "/font" so I'll answer those here instead of under the question..
industrial (not goth..) will live on forever. with such awesome groups as PIG, 16 Volt, etc. going strong it won't be dying soon. there's nothing that can take its place.
pop is so popular because the people/person who is singing is attractive. that's seriously the only reason I think pop is popular, seeing as there's ZERO talent in pop music. they don't write their own songs, don't play instruments, but I digress.
rap is popular because suburbanite whiteboys and riceboys wish they were innercity blackboys.
next trend.. hmm, swing music, but that's been done already, I guess.
new music blowing industry wide open - no. because most people don't listen to the music I listen to, thus, it isn't widely accepted, really.
sex appeal vs. substance? - sex appeal
if napster doesn't survive, there's a fucking shitload of other places I, and anybody else, can get mp3s. ie - hotline, tons of ftp's, gnutella, audiogalaxy satellite, scourxchange, etc, etc.
I didn't know they were banning band t-shirts. that's fucking bullshit. it hinders peoples self-expression and turns everyone into these preppy losers with the same haircuts, same Hawaiian shirts, and Nike shoes.
rap-metal - because it's something new and different. it will die very soon.
