A review of Ozzfest 2000

I went to Ozzfest in Tinley Park/Chicago yesterday, and it was fucking awesome. So awesome that I thought I'd do a review of it here for you all. I went with my brother Nelson, his friend Rob, and my friend Nicky. Here's what our day consisted of:

Slaves on Dope: sucked in my opinion..it was the first band of the day and people were all tired, plus the sun was hot as balls. We sat on a grassy knoll for awhile because our seats smelled kinda funny.

Pitchshifter: I like these guys. They're awesome. About this time, I was getting burned by the sun and people were getting high around me. Nicky thought it was funny because some guy fell down the steps on his face when he was high. Alcohol was beginning to be served at this time.

Taproot: I love this band, I've loved them for awhile. Seeing them live was even better. They put on a great show. Some drunk guy sat next to us for awhile.

POD: I hate POD. Enough said.

Primer 55: This band fucking rocks. They put on an awesome show, rocked the whole fucking house. About this time the drunk guys found that we were sitting on grass..and started throwing dirt and grass clods about the place.

Methods of Mayhem: we missed them because we were getting lunch and pissing and stuff.

Incubus: They were ok, they only played a few songs, the best song they played was New Skin, in which every person was up out of their seats jumping around and shit. I ran out of smokes at this time, had to bum off of nicky. 2 drunk guys sat next to us and asked us for our numbers, real sick looking guys too. We told them we were lesbians.

Crazy Town: I LOVE CRAZY TOWN. Not many people know who crazy town is, they should check em out. They started off with Toxic, played a few more songs, and then ended with BBoy 2000. The drunk guys were gone.

Disturbed: I just started getting into Disturbed about a month ago. They didn't play too many songs, but of what they did play it was good.

Kittie: Kittie is one of my favorite bands. We had to travel to stage 2 to see these grrls play..they put on an awesome show. This is where I got sunburnt really bad, we were in full sun for about 1/2 an hour. Some guy was smoking a joint in front of us and he was licking the end of it. That was pretty weird.

Static-X: Fucking awesome. If you've never seen Static-X live, you should go see them asap. Wayne came out looking hot as usual, started off playing I'm With Stupid. He played for a whole hour. I flashed him and some guy next to us took a picture. Bastard. They played the awesome Ministry cover Burning Inside..as some of you may know Ministry wasn't able to make it to the 'fest.

Godsmack: They could of done better. Sully was wanting the crowd to mosh and stuff, but you can't really mosh to his music ya know? they played a few songs off they're upcoming album, pretty good stuff. Sully announced for everyone to stop throwing grass clods or the show was gonna stop...not his rules but we have to follow some of them. Some security guard went chasing through the crowd after a kid who was underage drinking, and the guard jumped over where me and nicky were sitting, then dragged the kid out of the crowd in a head lock. That was fucking awesome.

Pantera: Now here's where it all started. Pantera came out to play and the crowd went crazy. Fucking mosh pits galore...and I ended up with a black eye from some dickhead elbowing me in the eye. My brother had to carry me out of the crowd because I was bleeding out of my mouth and my eye, and the security guards checked to see if I was ok. Fuck yeah I was, I got my ass kicked in a Pantera mosh pit! Anyways, I enjoyed the rest of their show from the grassy knoll area so I wouldn't get killed. They played for almost 2 hours, kicked fucking ass.

Ozzy: This man truly scares me, seriously. We only stayed to hear Crazy Train, which was the first song he played naturally. It was his tour, of course he did a good job.

So that was my day yesterday.

I wouldn't want to put anyone's musical tastes down...but ozzfest was bullshit

as were the bands involved other than ozzy and pantera

though pantera's pretty shitty compared to anselmo's other projects
