Bauhaus. I wanted to be Peter Murphy for many years (recent solo albums notwithstanding). They were dead and gone by my high school years, but the remains (Love & Rockets, Peter's better solo records) were in their prime. "Socrates the Python" is to this day chill-inducing. Unfortunately, I had to miss the reunion tour a couple years back, as I was starting a new job the day they came thru. But I did catch Murphy for "Deep", David J for "Songs From Another Season", Ash for his 1st solo tour, and L&R for one of their unfortunate later tours.

'Course, you trace that lineage back a few steps, you'll wind up right back at Bowie.

Oh, and for my 10th birthday my Dad took me and three friends to see Fleetwood Mac. Stevie Nicks had on this skin-tight leather-vest thing. Oh, god was I in love with her.

Whenever I catch a moment of that VH1 special "Behind the Music" with Stevie Nicks--it's an hour of sheer-bliss!

When I started out high school I had no musical taste. I saw Soundgarden with my cousin in '91 and then in 92 I saw lollapalooza which began my fascination with Ministry. I also saw White Zombie about 5 times during the end of my high school career (they were playing here every few months it seemed) and I started catching every industrial show that came to town.
