Question What is the first CD you ever bought?

Mine was 4 Non Blondes -- Bigger, Better, Faster, More (versus the scores of other 4 Non Blonde albums).

And that is still a very good album, I think, everytime I listen to it. Drifting is one of my all time favorite songs.

What about you? I know you remember.

1st CD I bought was prob'ly Sonic Youth's Goo. Got my 1st CD player for my 18th birthday.

1st album (as in record) I ever got was either Duran Duran Rio or that Alvin and the Chipmunks' Xmas album, back when I was just a wee thing.

Inbetween there were a lot of tapes, which have since been burned. Analog tape is the spawn of the devil.

Some Michael Jackson CD

I think the title was 'Bad', but that may have been a description of the CD.

yay Madness! yay Sonic Youth!

first CD had to be something Bowie that I already had on vinyl.

first rekkid I bought was...The Partridge Family. We had one of those portable record players with a handle that you could lug all over the house. oh yeah. hi-fidelity, man.

Sisters of Mercy: First and Last and Always.

1986-87. Somewhere in that time-frame, I think.

I think the Wayne's World soundtrack was the first CD I bought, when i was like 9. I didn't grow some taste until I was like 13 or 14 and started listening to Green Day (and Green Day still kicks ass, fuck you all).

I think the first actual record I bought was either "Kerplunk" by Green Day (which I still don't have on CD), or the first Rancid 7" on Lookout Records. I think record collecting is cool, but I haven't bought records in a while cos CDs are way more convenient to listen to. I can't hook a turntable up to my computer easily, yanno?

w00, 350 posts for me!

First CD ? Hard as i have tried to resist buying CD's being a pure vinyl junkie.

I think i might have been The Specials 1st LP, as it was hard to get on vinyl at the time.

The first vinyl i bought was probably 'it must be love' by Madness

Cool

First 45 - Cat's in the Cradle - Harry Chapin
First album - Styx - Grand Illussion
First Cassette - The Who - Tommy
First CD - U2 - The Unforgetable Fire
First MP3 download - Beach Boys - Good Vibrations

I will never forget how amazed we were when we heard "The Unforgettable Fire" CD. It had just come out and I had one on hold at a local store. Brought it home and about 5 of us sat and listened to the whole thing. I still remember how crisp the tamborine type sound was in "Bad".

I wouldn't remember, either, it's just that I never throw the things out, and they are all dated.

First MP3 -- Uncle Fucka.

I got into MP3's WAY late, okay.

Still, at least mine is cooler than the Beach Boys.

The first cd i ever bought was 3rd bass a white rap album.

Altho the first cd i got was c&c music factory and boyz II men with the player.

But even before i had a cd player I had Won a cd from a radio contest it was paula abduls 2nd album.

I must say that i currently do not own any of these cds anymore i have since outgrown them.

I do however own over 600 cds and enjoy all types of music.
