music video directors

they seem to be getting more credit these days
and i have to say that there is a major difference in videos from the 80's and the ones being made now (better)

but i have been impressed with the directors that have gone on and made movies

McG - Charlies Angels
Hype Williams - Belly
F. Gary Gray - The Negociator

and if there are anymore that i have left out or haven't seen i'm sure paint will tell me

whadda think?

how about Spike Lee, he has to be given a mention as well. By the way did you know that Spike Jonze and David Fincher are both god friends which is possibly the reason why they both came up with films of a similar ilk. Fight Club & Being John Malkovich.

Both are noted feature film directors as well (at least they are now).

Buddha's Penis already stole my answer though. Spike Jonze is the best of the bunch.

The guy that did The Cell also directed a few Nine Inch Nails videos, I believe. Tarsem.

IMO the only really great thing about say Tool is their videos. I would kill to have the Tool or the Nine Inch Nails guy direct a movie I wrote.

TOOLs videos are directed by their guitarist Adam Jones. He worked for Stan Winston on films like terminator 2 and Jurrasic park before concentrating on his music career.
