Why not have a section of the forum members' artwork or somethin of the sorts? eh? I know we have the images of desanctity but how about a solid section of the site for whoever would like to submit.

CAL mentioned something about a "pic of the day" kind of feature. I think that would be cool, IoD could be the "suppository" for that kind of stuff.

We have (piss of Pangloss ) considered this idea or something similar to it since day one. It is a good one.

One thing to consider.

If we do this, how much activity do we take from IOD?

no, not taking away anything from IoD, advertising it. like on the front page, a thumb of the pic of the day, linked to the full size in the images forum.

content guaranteed to change every day.

it doesn't have to be deliberate, like the user updates, it could be randomly selected from a fresh thread. Or someone could be chosen to select a top pic from the IoD. Their favorite, even if it's of or by them.

I agree with WP (obviously) because IOD is dying on the vine compared to TLF. In fact you will see people posting images on TLF just because of the worry of no one commenting on it. Plug it and they will come...

so long as it is personal original artwork from the guys here i dont think it would detract from IoD, I think its a good idea, but largle slow loading images on the front page are a bad idea, so a seperate page might be better

well all in all i was thinking more along the lines of a gallery

then inside that a picture with the artist's name under it which leads to a collection of their work hosted at the asylum.

If you posted pics of your work in a thread, and then wanted to post more pics days/weeks/months later, you could always go back to your own thread. Wouldn't that be like a gallery?

I guess what I'm saying is that it's not broke, don't fix it, as far as a hosted gallery goes. PMG has a pretty cool gallery on her site. I don't see why the asylum would have to host it. Advertise your own gallery in your sig or profile.
