i just wanted to make the 100th thread in here.

actually - its an idea about the site, what ways can we do to make peopel log in when they get here? log in to the main page - not the forums

Thus far, Asylum Graffiti is the only reason people need to log on other than profile changes (exception: admins and columnists). We don't track logins per se, and I think there was even a thread in here about eliminating them with cookies. The site is evolving, and we've discussed ways to enhance the "community" aspects of the site; some of them include more member-only features. Ultimately, the benefit of requiring people to log on right now is that means they are registered, and more likely to post on the forums.

Actually the main impetus is for new members continually flowing through so things don't stagnate.

The rates on the banners vary; no set rate, and not a lot of them pay per click. Some are based on registrations at the advertisers site, some based on commmissions. We're not going to get rich on banners, trust me. Certainly not at the rate our members click them

I once joined one of those banner things. I earned a whole 3 cents.

Stagnation is pretty bad. I belong to a forum that is so elitist in nature that we've nearly stagnated to a dead stop.
