Arrow anybody use 3d programs

Does anybody here use raydream, poser, and bryce3d? If so can you tell me the differences between them? I'm probably wrong but I thought they were all alike? I was wondering which is the best, I have Bryce 4 now and thats pretty cool, but I want to get one of the others but I only have time to download one of them soo I wonder which to get?

What do these programs even do?

------------------
You know, I was going to type up a signature but then I said to myself: "Why fucking bother? I mean, people just ignore what you have to say anyway, and when they do read what you type up they either flame you or make fun of you for it. So, I say screw them. Screw them with a rusty shovel." Then I realized that there is a midget somewhere out there in southern California that is masturbating right now to what I have to say... All I got to say to that is: Thanks Bob.

Everybody dies frustrated and sad, and that is beautiful.

Poser is a program that allows you to make 3d figures and texture map them then export them into another program like bryce 4 you also need a photoshop program to make the texture maps high learning curve bryce 3d is the version of byrce before 4 it is not worth the time if you have 4 raydream never heard of download and try it out thou because poser is pretty lame also[QUOTE]Originally posted by tack:

Yeah, Bryce 4 is newer than Bryce 3d. I haven't played with Ray Dream yet, but basically it's a mesh modeller... if you wanna make objects, grab that. If you want people, go for Poser. It's actually really useful if you use it right (ie, have good textures, and render in something decent like Bryce).

So basically: For objects, get Raydream. For people, get Poser.

I've used that a little. I kinda want to learn to do Half Life maps, but it's a lot of work, but texturing surfaces so they look good is a pain.

World Craft is a pain in the ass to get set up, and a slightly larger pain to work with. Getting all the camera shit figured out, and all that other shit takes a lot of work. Just making an interactive switch takes ten minutes.

Thanks. (Ego Trip time!)

I'll be happy to add more Bryce tutorials. What would you like them to be on?

I've used Max, but I didn't like it. It's got some really good features, but there are a lot of programs that are just as good, with a more user-friendly interface.

Thumbs up

Poser demo.. try http://www.curiouslabs.com .

Ok, a general newbie's tutorial coming up. It'll probably take a while, depending on how busy I am. School really sucks up my time these days.
There wouldn't happen to be anything in particular you want me to focus on, is there? I usually work better with an idea of what I'm doing.

ICK.. poser 2's not even worth looking at... Poser 3's OK, but it really doesn't get any good till Poser 4.

Should be. But, remember, it's a demo, so only the man's available... the full version has tons of people, and animals, and clothing.. as well as a number of other nifty features.
