 Defending the Undefendable, Part II
Grabbing this from the Experiment-One forum, where it was originally posted (by me of course).

STILE KNOWS HOW TO RUN A FORUM

With all the chaos of late, I thought I would take a crack at perhaps the most undefendable position of them all: that Stile knows what the fuck he is doing. I can't decide if I should make an honest go at being wrong, or if I should lace it with sarcasm. Perhaps I will just have a go at it and see what I spit out.
1. It is his forum, he can do with it as he pleases. What we have to remember is that the forum he provides is a free service given to us out of the goodness of Stile's cold black heart. Thus, just as we would have no right to complain when we lose the lottery, so to should we cease our bitching about what Stile does with his private property. It is the Stileproject, not the Whoreproject.
2. His zany antics spice up the place. Part of what makes the project and the forum so much fun is you are never quite sure where you stand, what is going on, or what will happen next. It is that aspect of the project that keeps us all coming back. From his suicide to Josef to Zyklon B to the ban-wars, the forum is a constant battle of us against him, which is part of why it is so much fun. Were it not for this adversarial aspect of it all, the forum would very likely stagnate and die. So try to take what he does with a grain of salt. It is all in good fun.
3. By not taking an active role in the forum itself, Stile perpetuates a certain mystery about himself that leaves newbies in awe. All to often we see forums where the webmasters do nothing but talk to themselves, drowning out the conversation in the place. With Stile, we do not have that problem. He leaves us to our own devices, to make our own fun, and only appears occasionally to spice up the place (see point 2). By doing so Stile has created a user-driven forum, which is what makes it so fun. For better or for worse it is essentially us who run the place. Not in an administrative sense, but in a content sense. We do not come to forum's for the webmasters, we come for the other posters, and Stile has enough sense just to step out of the way and let the chaos ensue.
4. The sheer act of creating a forum to his webpage was a stroke of genius on Stile's part, although I doubt he had the foresight to realize why. For one reason or another, a website featuring shit-eating and snuff films seem to attract open minded people, and the forum was the perfect opportunity for them to vent and to form a community.
Okay, that's enough. Starting to make myself ill defending that cocksucker. Still, it is an interesting exercise. Try it. Take a position you disagree with whole-heartedly and then defend it to the best of your ability. You'll discover a new appreciation for alternative opinions on the subject. I highly recommend it. You may even change your own mind. I did concerning tack, and even a bit with this exercise here. I still disagree with the original position above, but by defending it, I got a new outlook on the dickless wonder.
