Well, I kind of agree, but here is something that you may not have considered.

For every person who said they would be famous or successful or whatever at something, there are probably thousands of other people who said the same thing, believed it entirely, and amounted to nothing.

I for example used to think that I would be famous for something. I wasn't even sure what. But I have no MOTIVATION.

Attitude is part of it. Hard work is a larger part.

I do however agree to some extent that the proper attitude is neccessary. For example, if you go into something expecting to fail, you are much more likely to. If you expect to succeed AND are willing to put in all the effort to do so, you likely will.
