So your father's the bastard that keeps kicking me out of chat?

Errm.. umm... Sorry.

I honestly couldn't think of anything to say. I'm sorry to hear about your father. That was a very touching story.. it said all that needs to be said.

Thanks CAL.

I can't get this line or this image out of my head:

Speed was the key, go faster and push the limits of craft and man alike. The waves slapped against the bow with greater might, forcing him to hold on with more conviction. He was striving for perfection, for the purity in the waves, for absolution…

I can almost see your father...chasing the wind.

Swiftly, swiftly flew the ship,
Yet she sailed softly too :
Sweetly, sweetly blew the breeze--
On me alone it blew.
-Rime of the Ancient Mariner

CAL, thank you for sharing that. I hope it helps people to realize how dangerous alcohol can be.

My Father is an alcoholic. I remember as a child he wasn't really around. My Mom was the one that was there. He still to this day drinks. He has slowed down a lot, thankfully. I just can't help remembering being home some nights, and worrying that he may not make it home.

One night, he came home, turned the car off, but never came in the house. I was sooo scared. I was afraid to go check on him. I was so scared of what I might find. Seems that he had just passed out, which was very rare for my Father. He handled his alcohol very well.

I know that some of you here, in the forum, drink. It's your choice. Just please think of the people that care for you. Take a minute to see what you may be doing to them.

I'm getting cooler by the minute!
