EA, I have long felt that you were older than your years, and I have treated as such. No I know why you have appeared that way to me.

After one has read the words of another day in and day out over a period of time, you get to know the part of that person that they reveal...you laugh with them, you cry with them, you sometimes actually bond with them just like in real life.

In my almost 29 years on ythis Earth, I have studied many things, and people are one of them. One of the things I have noticed is that the coolest people have often been the ones who had the worst shit happen to them, but they got over it. The world can be a very cruel place, and often the children are the ones who bear the brunt of it.

I have come to this conclusion: you are who you are, and I like and respect you this way. I know horrible things have happened to you, and I now know what some of those were. I empathize with you, and I feel your hurt with you...but I wouldn't trade all the things that have made you what you are; I wouldn't take back the things that have happened to you if it would make you less of a person. You are not only the sum of your experiences...you are what those experiences and your spirit have evolved you into. And no matter how hard it has been on you...you have been tempered by the fire and made stronger for it. You're a far better person than you might have been if you'd grown up in a middle-class white xenophobic neighborhood. All that matters is who you are and how you deal with life. You've turned out damned well, Grasshopper. You're almost ready to take the Universe by the balls and show it who is who's bitch.

Don't let the bastards wear you down, EA, and someday, you're going to OWN. Rock on.

EA, we've talked for awhile now. We had gotten pretty close. I know a lot of things from what you've told. I've always been there when you were mad, or upset. I even sat there and listened to you when there was nothing to be said. I want you to know that I'm still here. No matter what I'm going through, I'll always be here whenever you need me.

Escape, I haven't met you, but I feel I now know you (and, no, I'm not trying to be absurdly presumptuous). There's one thing in particular that comes through about you. You obviously strive to be completely honest with yourself. I cannot help but believe your beloved grandmother is extremely proud of your deep and candid perspectives of yourself and your life.

The best way I've found to right my past neglect of departed loved ones is to make a commitment in your life to "pay it forward" (yes, I took the phrase from the movie). Your grandmother paid it forward to you. She gave her goodness to you. You do the same.

Thanks again, Escape.
