Amen. True friends are few and far between, and you really need to hold on to them as best you can. They really are a treasure.

Good luck with your friend's heroin habit. I've been lucky in that I don't know anyone addicted to anything but alcohol (and that's bad enough).

Most Sunday mornings in the summer, I grind my coffee beans, put on 'Sunday Morning' by the Velvet Underground, and sit outside with a good cup of coffee and think about the friends I miss and reminisce over the good times we had.

It's hard living away from home.
