So if I'm a water horse, does that make me a hippo?

um.... yes

HAH

seriously, one is akin to your "nature" (the water sign) the other is a guide that is apart of you and can help you thru toughtimes.

But that's between you and Horse.

anyway, more on elements.

if you wanna get all new-agey here....

all four elements are apart of everyone (five including spirit), some elements we have in a greater degree than others. There is a Carl Jung style test in which you can find out what you have and in what degree, but I cant remember the name of it... I found it once in a book somwhere...

anyway, more useless knowlege

Ya know that thar pentagram?

Wiccans say that it represents the four elements for each point, and the fifth point represents Spirit (or soul, or whatever you like). All the lines are connected to eachother, you can't have one without breaking the design.

something to meditate on....

wooooooooooo!

Very cool Paintchips.

Here is a story from native folklore..

Dreawalker, a medicine man, was walking across the plains to visit Arapaho Nation, He carried with his pipe. The feather tied into his long black hair pointed to the ground marking him as a man of peace. Over the rise of a hill Dreamwalker saw a herd of wild horses running towards him.
Black Stallion approached him and asked if he was seeking an answer on his journey. Black Stallion said, " I am from the Void where Answer lives. Ride on my back and know the power of entering the Darkness and finding light." Dreamwalker thanked Black Stallion and agreed to visit him when his medicine was in need during the Dreamtime.

Yellow Stallion approached next and offered to take him East, where Illumination lives. Dreamwalker could share the answers he found there to teach and illuminate others. Once again, Dreamwalker thanked Yellow Stallion and said he would use these gifts of power in his journey.
Red Stallion soon approached, rearing playfully. He told Dreamwalker the joys of balancing work and heavy medicine with joy and play. He reminded Dreamwalker that he could better hold the attention of those he taught when humor was integrated into the lesson. Dreamwalker thanked Red Stallion and promised to remember the gift of joy.
Dreamwalke was nearing his destination. The Arapaho Nation was near. White Stallion came to the front of the herd. Dreamwalker mounted White Stallion’s back. White Stalion was the message carrier for all the other horses, and represented wisdom in power. This magnificent horse was the embodiment of the balance of the medicine shield. "No abuse of power will ever lead to wisdom," said White Stallion. "You, Dreamwalker, have make this journey to heal a brother in need, to share your sacred pipe, and to heal the Mother Earth. You have the knowledge through humility that you are an instrument of the Great Spirit. As I carry you upon my back you carry the needs of your people on yours. In wisdom, you understand that power is not given lightly but awarded to those who are willing to carry responsibility in a balanced manner."
Dreamwalker entered the home of the Arapaho nation, healed his brother and shared the wisdom and power of the horse with them.

Horse medicine is power of the body and of the mind and balance if the medicine shield.
It it finding wisdom by remembering your total journey and walking in another’s shoes.
Compassion, caring, teaching, loving, and sharing your gifts, talents and abilities are the gateway to your greatest power.
Horse people are always searching for wisdom, and honor their spirit when they share their wisdom. They tend to be very talented and playful.
Bad Horse medicine comes when ego gets in the way. Horse people fall prey to their egos and sometimes abuse their powers. When this happens they tend to belittle people and “keep them in their place”
“I” has no place in “The Great Mystery”, it is replaced by “we”. Remember to honor all pathways.
Horse people must take care to not tangle themselves in situations and understand that every human has followed and must follow their own paths to where their power and destiny lies.

Exclamation

The answer to everything lies within our sub-conscious and 'lucid' dreaming is a very powerful way to interact with it in a way we can understand (the sub-conscious is not a realm of logic or words but feelings/images and understanding without understanding WHY you know such things - this sounds a little mad and also self contradicting and it is, that is the nature of the sub-conscious and the reason why we cannot talk to it directly or easily describe it in logical terms).

There are ways you can train your consciousness to expand. Try stopping your internal dialogue. That is the voice in your head that constructs your reality. This is not easy as thinking about 'nothing' is thinking about something (the old contradiction again). Another thing you can try is setting yourself tasks in your awake state to perform when dreaming. A good one is to try and find your own hands in your dreams. Once again, not as easy as it sounds. Once you have found them then shift your view from your hands to any other item in your dream and then back to your hands again. Don't stare at anything too long or it will dissolve and become unrecognisable (I found it to be quite painful as well - not physically but in your energetic body). The very act of doing this will make your consiousness come awake in the dream - lucid dreaming (being asleep and dreaming yet the logical/thinking side of you can start to awaken and you can control aspects of the dream and wish yourself back to certain situations - such as your dream with the wolves). I take it you were between 18 and 23 (roughly) when having this dream or was having some upheaval in your life as this is when you are more aware that the world does not just consist of the physical one we are used to dealing with everyday. It can take years to achieve these things but if you are curious, like myself, it is worthwhile.
