Asylum group Art project

Ok here is the idea, Fist I will post a small 20 px by 20 px image. Then , one by one, everybody adds there own 20x20 image around it. The end result is a collage of images made by the members of the asylum that fills a 800x600 screen. This requires that you have photoshop, who has photoshop ? (if you do not, you can download "the gimp" for free --10mb www.gimp.org . It does everything photoshop does and then some. ) Is there any problems that you can for see with this project please post them here. Prehaps someone who be nice enough to host the image for us that do not have web space or can not link images (aka tripod and geocites). If I get no replays or allot of "this is stupid" then I will not post the starting image. What do you say ? Who would like to try this ??

Kick ass !! Aright but 20x20 is too small how about 100x100. Who is in ??
Here is a starting image:

This is what you do. First, save the image to your hard drive. Please leave a message here that you are working on the image, that way two people don't work on the same square. Next, Make a square image of your own that is 100 px by 100 px. Third, create a new file that is large enough to fit both images. (example, to start with you would need a file 200px by 100px or 100px by 200 px in size) place your squre next to this image. Fourth, save the file as a jpg (name it whatever you want). Upload that image to your host and post it here. We will keep adding squares untill if fills a 800x600 screen. That's 48 squares. This may take some time time to do, so don't worry about not getting your turn at it. If there are any problems or questions, please post them and someone will help you. I can't wait to see what happens Have FUN everyone.

itd be easier if everyone just posted their image seperately, then in a couple of weeks someone collated them all.

but if the purpose is to watch it grow then i guess that would defeat it...

So project, once we've established how many people are willing to work on this project, or even more so, know how..can we add more than our one post? And how shall we work on the second line? Should we then have a rectangle that extends over to the last post on the above line? See what I mean? I think it will have to blacked in to work..anyway, this should be fun, we might have to eventually shrink the whole thing to keep going.

Yeah, you can add more than one post. Just give everyone a chance at it and don't go nutts adding allot of squares. We will have a blank line (white, black, whatever) for the next line. We can just add squares on that line. I did not think about shrinking it or having to darken the image, but you have made a good point. Sounds good to me, what does everyone elese think, after all this is a group effort.
