I heard Sega was thinking of shutting down the PSO servers, since some people were using cheats. Like, GameGenie stuff. . . I can't remember the link, it was on Dailyradar.com.

so many rumors about the server downtime, cheaters, etc. etc.
they supposedly shut down the servers to take preventative measures against players entering online games while having a Gameshark (or other such device) in, I believe.
also, since you need a serial number and a password to even play PSO.. it should be easy for SEGA to ban users (but I don't think they would, there is no End User License Agreement..yet).

ANYWHO, there's so many damn cool weapons in PSO.

ie - the EggBlaster. the descrition is something like "A gun made by Dr. Robotnik himself!"
Chaos Sorcerer's Cane - use a cane that an enemy has
Chaos Bringer's Rifle - turn the Chaos Bringer's arm into a rifle
DelSaber's Buster - another enemy's weapon
Double Saber, Twin Brand, Stag Cutlery (and supposedly, a Gladiator Spike) - all Darth Maul(sp?)-esque double sabers. green, blue, pink-ish, and yellow respectively.

um..

Flame Visit, Inferno Bazooka, Agito, Spread Needle (my personal fav. as of now, although it's kind of cheap since you can paralyze all enemies besides bosses and it deals awesome damage in it's strong attack)..
