Deep Breath
I don't care where you post.
You get out what you put in.
You are subject to the input of others that post there.
Thats why you choose to post where you choose to post.
Thats what makes it appealing.
You can't lay your finger on why that group of people is where they are (though you can sure try) but they are why you continue to go back.
There is one reason that group of people was at that one place...
I appreciate that a place has been made for a group who were associated with one isolated forum in an effort to allow that forums feeling to continue.
I hope you realise it will not.
The space is different.
The reason we're here is different.
This is different.
I lived just fine before I went there or here.
I lived better afterwards for having a place to turn my thoughts into speech.
I am, however, forced to wait for a change in location to be allowed to join others for the same reason under the same influence.
You think it was us who made it?
Think again.
We are chosen to be in a place @ a time.
(Un-like we are right now.)
Because we will act a certain way.
Say certain things.
View it all from a certain perspective.
Treat it in a certain fashion that is the same regardles of our opinion about a specific issue.
Regardless of our disagreements on points of order.
Despite our reflexive views and comments.
We all shared a common thread of thought, though many were different colors.
It has not broken.
But the loom it was woven upon has been damaged by selfishness.
You may apply that last statement anyway you like.
But don't respond to it...you waste your words.

Good post.
I'm with you on a lot of it. Meaning I disagree but understand.
This stands out though, in my mind.

I made a point, I think it was my very first post at THT, in regards to a few Asylum people joining, than an ensuing onslaught of a few people who made it clear why they hated Asylum, etc. My point was that some people just aren't comfortable unless they are a big fish in a little pond.
I think it still holds very much true. The main reason why some won't come here is because they don't feel important enough. I am certainly not implying this to be the case with you, or with anybody in particular, I just think it is something that often holds true with people's posting habit. Nor would I be so brash as to say it doesn't hold true with me. I go where I am known and well-liked, I have no problem admitting that. I also like to try and branch out though; to find new places to establish myself. But more often than not, I will opt for the former.
It is hard to fit in where you are not known. Difficult to try and shore up a reputation among strangers. Does that make sense to anybody but me?
I mean, I think your whole "THT was there because we wanted to say what we wanted to say, but this is different" bit is utter bullshit. Here you know you can say the exact same things.
I think the difference between the two is the reception one recieves. If you only want a place where your ass is kissed and you find many allies for a certain way of thinking, you won't likely find it here. Discourse only works with critics. Free speech as a principle only applies when you actually adhere to it.
It isn't that you can't say the same things. Or that you differ so much in terms of origination (THT origination and Asylum origination are identical). I think it is for the most part the simple fact of people being shy. Not wanting to extend themselves to new people. Wanting to be KNOWN right off the bat.
And unfortunatly, that won't happen here. Oddly enough, the de facto impetus of this all was Inky. She knew not a soul. She just started posting and chatting, and very quickly she became a very well known figure at both forums. Ironic.
I guess my ultimate point here is "Are you more concerned with what you have to say, or what other people have to say in reference to you?
I may have had a point but I am drunk.

im sticking in this forum now...
this place sucks
it's all about whose the best writer... this forum crap, for me, has turned into some 'popularity race'.... and i liked this computer internet crap to escape the real day sometimes, but it turned to crap... so then i was invited to this hypertribe? where i could post something and if people didn't understand, they wouldn't give me bullshit, and if someone understood they'd give me their share of their brain...
i liked it there cause there was respect, but i guess this whole 'internet' thing has turned into the 'real world'..
one word respect, impossible to find without exile..

mute, as long as you stick to your guns and ideals, there will always be those of us that respect you
so feel free to post what you will. if you gleaned a special something from TNT. the effort to try and re-create it is here
i'll readily agree i enjoyed reading TNT; different perpective. and this poem was poignent. in some places, others i didn't agree with but i get the gist
minus the negative bullshit about the past (which is tiring from me, considering i'm a forum whore) its about the same. i'm sure as this goes on, tribal members will have full control over this forum.
sure some of us will still carry over feelings which amount more then annoyance from each other, but i for one am not about to infringe on that by posting bullshit here. to me, the asylumites that do it are petty. they aren't willing to think beyond their limited sphere of thinking about themselves.

It's been a interesting and educative experience to look around this website.
I surely wish I had read this instead of the few ugly multi-paged threads that I read here in an attempt to find out WTF was going on at the THT.
They had left a bitter taste in my mouth, especially a certain individual from the hierachy sportingly posting a link to, I can only assume, even my own personal messages.
I now realise how stupid I was to let that tarnish my view of this site.
Cheers, Wonderaz.

It's so funny that I get blamed for that even though there were at least 20 people who already had the link and you would have never known about it (or believed it) unless you saw for yourselves. It had even been pointed out without the link a number of times, and few seemed to give a shit about it.
For Christ sakes. You also mustn't have read very much of those multi-paged threads (if at all, I am half-guessing you got the info second hand) to refer to it as "sportingly". Hastily, perhaps, but I wasn't doing it for fun. I even edited out the link, gave an explaination and an apology.
So forgive me if I get a bit pissed when you refer to it as such.

Sorry, didn't mean to. Just sensitive about that.
Nothing to see here. Move along now. Resume on-topic posts now.
