Well, I think most people's answers have appeared in several different threads, but I guess it would be nice to see them all in one thread. Here's my answer:

I've been around this internet place long enough to become pretty jaded about it all. I use it now to keep up with news, current affairs, entertainment etc. Nothing special, I've already done all the fucking around and being amazed at the chances for communication. Quite frankly, when the internet started it was a dream. Getting online wasn't easy - you had to be a real techie with lots of savvy, and it was easy to find people with common interests etc. These days, I'm sure we all agree, the internet is populated by 90% assholes. It sure feels like that sometimes. I no longer chat and post in as many places as I once did. In fact, this is the only forum I post in at all now. I feel alienated everywhere else by the a/s/l AOL motherfuckers who have come out of nowhere in the past two years. I don't have time for that shit, so as far as the actually participating in the internet goes, here is the only place I do that anymore. I guess I'm just old and jaded now, but you may eat me. I like you guys and feel part of something here. That's very rare these days in the net.

Personally, I spend 70% of my online time with the asylum. The other 30% is with mail and chatting on my messengers.
I really, really enjoy the people here. It really is like I'm part of something without it feeling cliquey or gratuitously (sp) cruel. It isn't hard to be open and share things, and on the other hand you can be as foul and disgusting as you want and still have people back you up. I have friends here and I have entertainment. I regularly laugh out loud while cruising the lost forum.
I think that i have never appreciated the forum more than i have since monday...
Maybe it's the relief from boredom it's given me as i'm stuck at home recovering from having all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled out...
Or maybe it's all the vicadin i've been doped up on...
But... hehheh... yeah...

I concur with Mr. Pangloss and Ms. PittyKitty, the Asylum can be a thief’s den of debauchery while simultaneously sporting a substantial and interesting essence. I feel that this is largely in part due to our original place of congregation: the stileprojectforum.

We all shared similar interests (scat, physics, philosophy, dead people, etc.) and found that being around people of similar bizarre taste could be both interesting and inspiring.

Mr. Stile did not notice the cesspool of friendship that he had been catalyst to, and maintained a stern façade of ineptitude towards us all. This inaugurated our Asylum, a menstrual embryo palace tailor fit to our socially unfamiliar standards.

Anyway, I came here to exercise my atrophied writing muscle. I don’t know how long I will be around, but I do appreciate the time that I have been here.

i agree with mr. pangloss , the internet is full of assholes but the most entertaining and friendly ones are here.
like pittykitty i spend 70% here and on #wota and the rest is mail and idleing in some chans with people who share the same main interest i have in my life , music. there still are cool people who are worth listening to. you and these music geeks are proof of that.

i think its cool to read other people's opinions, esp. when they come from people from all over the world.
ive learned alot here, ive learned my spelling sucks from years of nonuse, ive learned there are assholes no matter where you go, ive learned im not too old to blush, and that there are some freakie folks out there, like poo eaters and peepee drinkers.

I like this place because it is the only site of its type that seems to have some bite to it. I've met some new interesting people here and learned a few things.
I think mainly I keep coming back because of the community feel it has. People seem to have quite a tie to each other that I've not seen anywhere else. This site is a rare jewel.

Reasons I like the asylum:

¤There are many age gaps here, but it isnt a problem.
¤Everyone gets along (for the most part)
¤People from all over the world are here

Its just an interesting and decent place to be, Im glad this was made and everyone here is here...
