Spence had nothing to do with that. That was just me and Nap.
Spencer (Ben in real life) and I have been a bit pissed at Tim (Napoleon in gaming life) in that he has posted 4 times in the last day and a half. That is a real big faux pas apparantly in this sort of gaming. I was told when I first started by CHiPsJr that more than one post every day was considered too excessive.
I don't really mind so much, but it makes it very hard to compete. For example, Spencer and I, when Nap had only posted twice in two days or so, backed off in posting a bit so as to allow for new competition or for Nap to be able to up his posting some. I have posted once a day for ever other mission save this one. So it sort of makes it difficult when you try and maintain a steady pace to play off others and then BAM somebody suddenly has a blitzkrieg at the end of a mission. It fucks up the pacing, it fucks up the other players' ability to play off things well, it fucks up the pacing, etc etc. It just makes it a lot harder for the opponents to react. And not in a "good gaming move" sort of way. It is something which is usually considered (apparantly) a low blow. For the same reason I wouldn't post once for 5 days of an RPG period, and then post 4 times on the last day.
In any case, what had been an easy walk-away for Spencer and I is now very competitive because of that. Jeff considers that Nap post, Ins and Outs, to be the best thing posted this week, and indicated there may be an upset on our mission. I don't even neccessarily disagree with that. Like I said, it is a bit miffing that Nap only became competitive in the last day, and thus Ben and I had no opportunity to play off him or anything like that.
But in any case, it would be a bit embarrasing if we lost. We have been in the last of Campaign one the dominant forces in the game (Ben and I), and thus it would be a big upset if Nap won. Which is a distinct possibility at this point.
But oh well. I'll live if he does. Nap has had a few REALLY great posts on this mission, there is no denying that. I would agree that the best post on this mission was his (though I still think Kill The Pain was a damn fine post). And as CHiPsJr has been telling me this whole time, the top money winner Right Hand Man is not neccessarily a desirable postion to have.
I just hate losing is all.
So we'll see.
