a few things to think about

What will become of the consitiution? what about personal freedoms?

I can almost forsee a change and the reinstatement of the NSA's carnivore here, where comms inside the US are monitored, out of fear of something like this occuring again.

Consipiracy theorists might even say it was the US government or a federal agency trying to bring about a change to allow them to monitor everything that you do.

My other comment is about the ability of the internet to deliver news. Almost every news site has seen massive problems all day - CNN, MSNBC, ABCnews BBC, washingtonpost.com have all experiences difficulties... CNN performing well by re-writing its page to 90% text only

Does this show how much we have becoem concerned with graphics, and active-X plugins, flash movies and other bloated objects on websites?

You are correct that the big government types will try to expand using this as opportunity.

I really don't think any one will be fooled by their real purpose and I doubt they will gain any ground.

We will definetly make things worse be further breaking the sovereignty of the middle east and suceed in generating additional American hate and give terrorists justification for their actions.

Let's try a little empathy. Try to consider what it is we have done to these people that they would give their lives in order to pay us back.
Now is there anything they have done to you that would prompt you to steal a plane and crash it into a building in their home?

I don't justify what they have done but Bombing them will give a new generation of terrorists a reason to kill our children years down the road.

Why not capture them and bring them to trial. That will only effect the guilty and avoid breeding new terrorists.
