Post missile defence system

dont you think it is a waste of money ?
for real now , like i understood it , it is planned to prevent the usa from missile attacks coming from hostile states. so it is mainly to prevent one or two missiles from getting through. but do u think that this scenenario is an acctually possible one ? beside that only one test was a success and that only because they prepared the incoming missile with a signal so chances were small that the test failed.
wouldnt terrorist states try to place a bomb directly in a big city or use B or C weapons.
dont you think this whole defense plan is just to satisfy the industries which will build the system ?
anyways , i think it was a brilliant decision that clinton leaves it to the next president to decide about it . more interessting debats to spice up election campaigns

something else :
i have to vote for a new mayour (sp?) for my city on sunday. and the green party acctually has good chances hurray !

First, full-disclosure: I'm a life-long Democrat (from a family of determined Democrats).

Clinton's decision to NOT make a decision is exactly why he's been making me crazy since about 1994. Of course he's against funding such an arcane and unproven system that will be outdated by the time it's built. The money ear-marked for this missile defense system could wisely be spent in a myriad of ways, including bumping up the National Endowment for the Arts. ( this is a self-serving plug that'll never happen.)

But despite the scandals in his rear-view mirror, Clinton doesn't have the cajones to kill a political football like the missile defense system. If he kills it, he/the Democrats/Al Gore are all seen as compromising the nation's security. And as you pointed-out in your post, this kind of worthless military research is keeping thousands of government workers employed during an election year.

I can't wait for Clinton to vacate 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Back in 1992 when he first won election, I was elated. Eight years later I'm disillusioned and desperate to see Al Gore take his place.

i agree . clinton is a showman . i cant judge gore sofar as i can only base my opinions on what i get from the newspapers which is little. i hope he wins the elections though, cause somehow i think he is less evil . i will judge him by his actions then.
