Unhappy My cat died today

I loved that cat. He was the best cat I've ever had, ever known. Very laid back and friendly. I've had him since I first moved to the beach, some seven years ago. I feel like I've lost my best friend.

Somebody hold me.

My condolencese, Rosh. I had a cat that was the best cat a person could ever hope for, just as your was. I got mine before he was even weaned; his mother had moved the litter and apparently forgot about him. We had to feed with an eyedropper, wrapped up in a towel because he would always shit all over when we fed him (maybe that was why his mom abandoned him?)

He grew out of that though and grew into a 26 pound massive orange tabby cat, Tipps. He was a super cool cat, pretty laid back but was known to visit the local feline Fight Club at nights. When we would be playing in the yard or around in the trees, he would often be seen nearby. He never played with us like the dogs did, but he was always around, sitting in a tree or perched on the woodpile.

Good pets are family members. It is always difficult to lose them.

edit: I forgot to mention he finally died after contracting kitty leukemia. He was an old cat, not sure quite how old, but close to 10 years I think. Very battle scarred but still loved me and knew that I was his and he was mine.

Damn, even writing this about him chokes me up a little bit.

Thanks, guys. I'm rather sad now, but I'm expecting that it'll really hit me hard when I go home for Christmas and he's not there.

He's just been a part of my life for so long, I'm having a hard time thinking about how the house would be without him.

He's a good looking cat. You were lucky to have known each other.

My wife is applying for a job that would require us to relocate, but we would probably be able to get a house, which means I would finally be able to have pets again.

Pets rule.

Yeah. I always miss my pets while I'm at school. And I doubt I'll be able to get a new cat till I'm through with school, since the dorms don't allow pets... I don't think dad would want to have to go through the whole "kitten" phase on his own, either.

You plan on living in the dorms until you graduate? Even if you don't get a pet, there is something to be said for getting an apartment or house or something. Staying there over the summer might be a good way to get to know some locals too.

(and you can get a pet! Even if you don't stay the summer)

Yeah, Morg. That was probably the worst part of it.

And Nute, yeah, I'm planning on sticking with the dorms till I'm done, mostly because they're cheaper than apartments here, and my scholarship barely covers housing even in the dorms.

And then there's the added bonus of the ethernet connection.

Strange it is, I keep losing the nice cats. Every litter and there's soon to be more... we tend to get a really nice male cat out of the litter, trouble is they only live 8-9 months, and strangely die of the same thing... We do have many very nice female cats, they seem to die off too..

Luckily I still have my goon cat and my gump cat, both from the same line and extremely nice, nicer than they have any right to be with me picking on them all the time. I just wish i wouldn't keep having to bury cats every few months, the backyard's getting full and the emotional crap pile gets hit with quite the missile.

I miss my cats, little rodney, tom, blackie, and satan.. they were all kick ass pretty cats, and I mean very pretty.

When you are able to get a pet drop me a line, I'm sure I could set you up with a really nice cat, male or female. I think that if they lived in a different area they'd last a lot longer.

Also, the mean cats never die, it's strange and irritating but I guess it's true, only the good die young.

__________

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...

seeing your cat brought tears to my eyes... i have 4 cats, and two of them are nearly 17 years old. they live at my dads neighbours house cos it's a lot more peaceful there without the other two cats (who are about 9 and 10). the last time a cat of mine died was when i was 5. i am dreading the next time it is gonna happen.

/me hugs Rosh.
