Back when I was living at home in L.A., I had two little mutts named PeeWee and Banshee. PeeWee was a Chihuaha/Terrier mixed while Banshee was a Toy Poodle/Terrier mix. No one in my family calls him Banshee though. They all call him Benji. It pissed me off for a long time but I got over it.

Now, I just have about 110 students, mainly freshmen. They aren't really caged but they sure as hell act like it. Unfortunately, it appears as though many of them see prison as a way for them to earn respect from their homies so they'd rather be there. They're doing their darndest, that's for sure.

At home we have five cats, two birds, two fish, a snail and a bunch of sea monkeys.

Here in my apartment we have 6 betta fish and two snakes. The snakes are very young, about 3 months old, and are creamsicle cornsnakes. They are bright orange and very pretty.

My dog, Gracie, is a german shephered/coyote thingie. A grasshopper joined us a few days ago, and I just spotted a wasp. Before that, my old neighbor's lizard came up for a cup of coffee.

I have a few smashed spiders on the walls. they dont eat much.

I have a 4year old human. He doesnt eat much either.

oh. and I have a 22 year old ex-boxer who wont let anyone call him a "cracker" without getting their ears ripped off and fed to them. Hes also prone to eat your spleen raw for the same mistake. He eats a fair amount, but the spleen snacking keeps grocery bills low.

I used to keep salt water fish. They are quite colorful and relaxing to watch. I never bothered to name them. It wasn't like they would come if I called them or anything.

CATS! LOTS OF CATS!
buzzy and ira - brothers, about 16 years old.
lucky and sheba - son and mother, about 10 and 11 years old.
haze and jarvis - brothers, they aren't really my cats, but we live in the same house, and they come into my bedroom, so they are kind of mine

Well, i have a husband who has a dog. A copper-colored labrador retriever who smells bad, jumps on me, charges outside and runs off every chance he gets and swallowed a rock last spring, forcing us to get him *850 surgery, the bills of which are still coming in.

I hate dogs. I think being married to a dog person is grounds for a divorce.

I miss my kitty and my snow corn snake. (One's being held hostage at my mom's, the other dies last winter)

Low maintainence. That's what I like in a pet. That and lack of hair. I'd have more reptiles if my husband weren't so afraid of them.

Okay, I tried to resist this, but I couldn't help it!

1 Golden Retriever...Yuki...2 1/2, who still grabs any packet of cigarettes she can see, runs into the yard and decapitates them. Vehement anti smoker and long time chewer.

1 fluffy Maltese x Shixhu...Winnie (though clipped and defluffed)...quite fiesty and one of those tough chicks you were always wary of in high school.

1 black cat, Bruce (sadly very old and about to...well, find the eternal store of kitty litter)...very laid back and tranquil, even if he did have a penchant for CD urination early on. Dusty Springfield, I'm sorry.

1 black and white cat, Peabody (Bruce's sister)
Hasn't enjoyed a moment downstairs since Yuki's arrival. Occasionally, she will make a break for freedom and run downstairs into the backyard. The ensuing battle is kind of combo Keystone Cops and Sheep Trials as the two dogs nip and herd and generally go crazy at the sight of "The One".

Really, it's all go here, I can tell you.

I used to have a cat.

Dad's got a dog named Rusty. Not entirely sure what the hell he is.

Also two fish: a scarred, beaten-up one-eyed Oscar, and the cause of its injuries, a big-ass Pacu. All other organisms we've put into that tank have died horribly violet deaths at the hands of the Pacu.

I think that about covers it.

(Edit: Ermm... okay, the Pacu doesn't have hands. I couldn't think of a better way to word that.)

Those hypomelanistic corn snakes come from the Okati region of South Carolina. They are probably captive bred though. That is the only area in the corn snake range where they have no black in their coloring.

I gots me roaches which are doing fantastic (like it is hard to fuck up on raising roaches). When I first got these, they were all about a half inch long. Now the females are around 3 1/2 inches and the largest male is about 3 inhces.

There is a mess of fish in the tank behind my computer and about a half dozen finches in a tank in the living room. There are fucking rabbits inside and outside the house.
We have ""yard rabbits" thanks to Big Al. They aren't caged, they just live in the yard and under the house. there are about 5 of them and they seem to be thriving. I do not undderstand why the coyotes haven't made luch out of them. the catrs in the neighborhood were wipedd out by coyotes about a year ago but these rabbits do fine. Go figure.
Apparently we are getting some kind of turtle from the Boys and Girls Club. It seems they have to get rid of it because it has bitten quite a few of the kids and two of the staff. When the director called me and asked me to take it, he told me that Little Al volunteered us because, ""My Dad doesn't mind being bitten at all.""
Erm, excuse me but that is a vicious rumor.

W- What kind of turtle is it?
LA- A biting turtle.
W- No such thing.
LA- You're wrong, it is a biting turtle, it bites everything.
W- That is not a type of turtle though.
LA- So?
W- *sigh* So what does it eat?
LA- Everything.
W- Like what? Meat? Veggies?
LA- Everything.
W- Chairs?
LA- You're such a dope.
W- How big is it?
LA- Pretty big for a turtle. but not too big.
W- Can you be any more vague?
LA- You should know what kind it is, you're supposed to be the know-it-all.
W- I've never seen it.
LA- That is not my fault. Can I have some money?
W- How much?
LA- how much do you have?
