Thumbs up Finally, Justice! Damn pop up spam...

Arrests, closures, charges and the shutdown of thousands of sites. I think they should just put him in a room with all the people he sucked in...

And when I clicked on the yahoo news link, this popped up in a separate window. Amazingly, it was completely out of my control.

(Lame and unbelieveably mawkish attempt to flog Old Glory to unbelievably mawkish American citizens.)

does that stop ALL pop ups or just the ones that are forced upon my computer, because I dont want a program that would stop me from clicking on a link and not allowing the pop up to come up.

from quickly reading the online docs, it stops ALL popups.

if you want to open something in a new window, you need to either ctrl or shift click on the link.

I haven't been running it long, but that's the way it seems to work.

[spamming free stuff]

Ctrl or Shift.

It doesn't effect normal browsing, just the "open in new window" pages.

It is my deeply felt observation that the sum total of sites worth looking at which have hideous numbers of popups = zero.

Why the need for pointlessly complicated processor-sapping extra software?

Why not just stop looking at lame porn/warez sites and learn how to find the good stuff?

Well it just so happens that a site I frequent regularly has a case of pop-ups, I got the link from their forum.

You know, the worst part is that there's really no fucking point to what he's doing.

Why would any company want to advertise at a site that crashes or locks the browser, thereby making it impossible for them to visit the site they're advertising anyway?

Not to mention that most would be so pissed that they'd likely refuse to ever visit any sites advertising via this method later.

Stupidity.

ohh! lookie ma, fresh meat!

Skalie, not incoincidentally, (or Scally, if your prefer) is slang in Liverpool (England) for someone of limited intellect and a downwardly mobile personality.

Funny how convergent evolution works, isn't it? Opposite sides of oceans, words coming to mean the same things independent of each other. Like the long-fingered possum of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar's aye-aye, only it's bizarrely long middle digits and not mentally incontinent trolls that are converging.

But that's another story.

Skalie, relax a little and try not to take everything said around you as a blistering attack on your rather unobtrusive presence. Shocking as it may seem, I'd barely even registered your presence here until you started snapping at my heels.

Excuse me for taking things personally, sorry that my unobtrusiveness hit a spot, try not to lose any sleep over it.
