Angry Road rage...

You know you all get it. I'm just curious what things set you off, and how you deal with it?

Might as well start off. I hate traffic back home in Myrtle Beach. Just driving there really, really pisses me off. The roads are laid out poorly, and they're not nearly big enough to handle the traffic we get.
Out here, traffic's not nearly as bad, except during rush hour. Here, what pisses me off are the usual things: people talking on cell phones and driving, assholes who don't use their blinkers, people who pass me then slow down.. etc.

Here, to handle the road rage, I keep an Enya cd in my cd player, and it calms me down somewhat. Dunno if it's the music, or simply the fact that it distracts me from the assholes, but it seems to work. Though if I drove more than once a week, it would really drive me insane.
Back in MB, and anyone except my dad who's driven with me can attest to this, I respond to assholes by letting loose the longest tirade in which every other word is fuck, asshole, or something along those lines. It's not as effective as Enya, but it's much more fun.

How about ya'll?

Can't help you either, Rosh. I truly could give a rat's ass about the antics of anyone else on the road around me. I live in a tourist town that has a 40% retirement population and am subjected to every idiotic manuever imaginable every time I venture out on the road.
I am an island of serenity in a sea of insanity.
I admit to one exception. If I see someone overcome by roadrage to the point of blocking traffic to express their rage, particularly if it involves them exiting their car, I become the Wrath of God.

Now that I think about it, I remember one time my friend was driving.. this guy was in the lane next to us, speeds up (the traffic's barely moving), nearly hits the guy in front of him, cuts sharply right in front of us, and nearly hits the guy in front of us.

My friend was so pissed it was kinda scary. Of course, if we hadn't been in my dad's car, he probably would've rear-ended the guy, gotten out, and kicked his ass. When the asshole's passengers stuck their heads out the window and sorta gloated, he nearly got out and kicked their ass anyway (or, more likely, gotten his ass kicked) except I stopped him. So despite my horrible road rage, he definitely has it worse..

Hmm.. did any of that make sense?

Mind you, out here in AZ, I almost never get road rage. Either it's the Enya, fewer assholes, or the fact that I only drive once a week, but I'm so much calmer here than I am back home.

Oh well.

Not yet. Furthest I've been, other than the drive in last year, are the other places within the phoenix area (mesa, phoenix, scotsdale, chandler, etc)

Haven't really done any exploring yet. On the way in, I did at least stop to see the grand canyon.

My AZ geography's still a little off.. which direction's sedona?

Heh, I have a crowbar in the back of my car, but I haven't had to use it yet. . . I don't start shit, but if someone else wants to, then I'll do my best to convince them otherwise.

About 2 hours north of you. 35 miles south of Flagstaff.
Red rock country.

We should connect up one of these days. I occasionally scoot down to Tempe to go to my art glass wholesaler. You may find Sedona to be a great getaway from the heat. We are at 4300 feet and a bit cooler than you flatlanders.

Ok, I admit it, once in a great while I have road rage. I usually lean on the horn in the car. It does me no good because everytime I do, the fuse blows

Cool

Heh. Believe it or not, I enjoy the heat. But I might head up there some time. It's always nice to get out of the dorms for a while.
