Bin Laden dead?
rumor mill at work or could it be true? i can see pakistani papers falsely publicizing that ossie is dead in an attempt to take some heat of him.
"...speculative and unsubstantiated reports have surfaced suggesting that he may already be dead as a result of U.S. bombing, or even illness..."
"...The Observer's account included details on Bin Laden's purported funeral, but not on how, when or where he supposedly died..."

Perhaps he is working in your local 7-11 (the one managed by Elvis)?

Damn, I wish I could remember where I saw the sequence of pictures on him. He looks like shit.. His beard turned grey in a matter of 2 months, his face is gaunt.
He looked like death warmed over.
Who knows? He could be dead by now.

I hope not. I'd like to see the US go all hypocritical and attack another country when they arrest him and give him a fair trial.
"But he's ours! This means your harboring him! WORLD WAR 3 MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!"
Then we'll all be dead.
*crosses fingers*

I am inclined to think that him disappearing but actually being dead might not be a bad thing for the US, avoiding the problems that a trial or public killing of the man might bring.

Both Afghan and Pakistani officials are saying its HIGHLY likely that he's made his way across the border and is being protected in pakistan by some militant groups.
Now, the difference between this and afghanistan is that pakistan's government has welcomed the US into their country to search for him.
Whats more scary than Bin Laden is the complete destruction of stability in the region as a whole. It's possible that that is what he was after to begin with.
Step 1) give the US a reason to be pissed
Step 2) watch the US ally with Pakistan again, this time to fight the islamic fundamentalist government of afghanistan (whereas last time it was the russians)
Step 3) watch the US send in money and arms to pakistan
Step 4) watch the resurgance of terrorist attacks by pakistan based militant fundamentalist islamics against india in the kashmir region
Step 5) be pleasantly suprized as the pakistan fundamenalists manage to attack indian parliment
Step 6) watch as pakistan's military slips and actually threatens the fact that nuclear war is possible
Step 7) watch all hell break loose.
Shit's hittin the fan, and it may very well have some fallout.
At least it seems that the Palestinian Authority looks to want peace now that they've been properly beaten around.

Errr.....Pakistan was at war with India for ages. Hostilities, terrorist attacks have been going on in that region long before the west got involved.

Theres a notable connection with the increase of terrorist and military attacks against india by pakistan when we armed them to fight the commies.
Now as we send them support, theres a notable increase of terrorist attacks.

The current build-up between India and Pakistan is said to be the largest in 15 years. People are evacuating the border areas, and the Taj Mahal has been wrapped in khaki fabric to make it less of a target. They've closed airspaces, railway lines and diplomatic ties.
However in recent days the islamic groups in Kashmir have been pretty quiet, they are starting to lay low due to increased pressure and attention. Pakistan just froze the assests of several people that the US believes to be involved in terrorism, and seems to be afraid of war with India (probably with good reason, India has beaten them up in conflicts in the past). Pakistan has been calling for a peace summit in Nepal, but India wants to see some action against muslim groups fighting in Kashmir before they talk about anything. Bush called both sides personally to tell them to work it out.
India says that it has been able to link the assailants on their parliament to groups fighting in Kashmir by tracking down phone numbers stored in the attackers cell phones and interviewing witnesses. They have not been able to find any evidence to directly implicate the Pakistani military or intelligence (two groups that India has named as having links to the attack). That might be part of the reason India hasn't retaliated yet.
(sorry I just got home from work and this is all I read right now)
Oh, and Bin Laden... who knows. I think he's probably under some rocks somewhere. If not, he will turn up eventually.
