Lord of the Rings

Here's my crappy old attempt at a desktop for LOTR. I cant help but feel something is missing from the middle perhaps, but I know how annoying over complex wallpaper can be.

Thoughts?

A glowing One Ring with the inscription is needed in the middle.

Sounds like a plan and something I toyed with. Do you have any idea how hard it was to find a decent picture of the ring? I might be able to rip the eye from the movie once I've grabbed it from the internet

Looks good, the only thing that i can see is where the eye fades into black try and make the transition a little smoother if that is possible. That is why i thought it would be easier to put the eye inside of the ring, but i can see where finding pictures would be difficult. Another idea is the reflection of the eye on the ring, but that may be extremely hard to create. And also keep in mind i have never done this before, nor do i know much about it. So im just going on what i think would look good

I suggest you hit http://www.themes.org and poke around. They have some LOTR themes for KDE, Gnome, Windowmaker, etc, but the images are still usable as wallpaper, or yoink-material.
