Okay, this is shaping up to be the best party since ever, mainly because I am going to be there. Smug Git forced his way into this so we have to put up with him, but other than that the guest list is looking like a who's who of who.

What we need to do know is get some serious facts down. What we know so far is that we are going to be getting some hotel rooms near the UPenn campus for crashing in. The main night of the pissup is going to be Saturday, March 2, but I will be in Philly from Thursday Feb 28 through at least Sunday March 3.

What we need in this thread is a list of people who are going to show up, as well as what dates they want a room for. It is looking like we might have more than a few peeps in the pooper for this one, and as cool as caffeine's idea about scrambling for rooms at the last moment is, let's see if we can add a bit of structure to contrast with the inevitable chaos. A structural apertif to make the chaotic entree taste juuuuuust right.

So, chime in now, people. Let us know who is going to be there when so when can make sure we have enough space for all of you. Those (females) who don't sign up in time are of course welcome to stay in my room, for a small *service* charge, of course.

As for hotel issues, I'm gonna wait to see what everyone else is planning and probably go along with that.

And another question just for my own "peace of mind," for lack of a better term...is there anyone besides me who won't be drinking?

I believe that a whole day of bar drinking is needed at some stage. We do need an itinerary. There is obviously a problem with over/underaged people too; are minors allowed into bar-restaurants where the overagers can drink and the minors just eat/drink fizzy drinks? Or is it best to do the main night in the rooms and then maybe a drinkup next day?

I don't want to hang out in the mall though...

If we go to a bar & grille type place that has a restaurant and bar, then the minors should be able to go in with us and eat and hang out...whatever.

the problem is a lot of those type places are chain type restaurants, like applebees, TGIFridays, Cheddar's and their drinks tend to be expensive.... but sometimes you can find the small hole in the walls that have good strong drinks that are cheap and don't card at the door, so basically anyone can get in.

If any bar is following the rules set forth by the government then at any time they are serving alcohol minors can not be on the premise.

I've been kicked out of bars while playing pool because of that.

In Pennsylvania and Delaware, as far as I know, as long as the establishment has a restaurant license, minors are allowed in the place.

Personally, I have too much at stake to be in the presence of minors doing drugs and drinking alcohol. My child.

If they have a restaurant license then minors can be there, yes. Otherwise they can't. Which pisses me off because usually the only places with pool tables are straight-up bars.

Add Indigo to this (as she stated in a prior thread), and myself. I've told Nute I won't attend any functions with minors present, but even the adult ones are in question with people saying they are going to bring drugs. And of course, how stupid is it to announce you're bringing drugs to an event that is being planned on a public forum?

Why is it that with every pissup, everybody always seems to get all scetched out about drugs? I've never been to a crack pissup. The only time drugs has ever been an issue is when RiZZ is involved, and even he can behave when you ask nicely.

So I wouldn't worry about drugs. We talk a good game in political threads but I don't think there are any real drug addicts here. Just drunks.

And the way it is looking, fiend and I pretty much have to attend now. Goddammit.

Neither of us can afford to even go in on a hotel room, so some kind soul will have to donate us some floor.

Likely we'll come down on Friday and leave Sunday, as it is in the middle of the school year and all.

Dead Inside, if you're going you should contact us so we can maybe plan a carpool/convoy. I CAN donate my car if we go, as it is in real good shape and never has problems with long distance problems (unlike Fiend's POS). And maybe we can pick up some strays on the way.

Like I said, fiend and I are budgeting this on maybe 150 bucks each, so we need to keep it reeeal cheap, especially as how most of that will go to beer.

So count us as 90percenters (in terms of chances of us showing). We can probably solidify that if we get some solid plans with some of the New England folk.

And we pretty much won't attend any function without booze (although we're no dirty minors!). So count on the drunk squad for added color (nationality puns intended). I'd make the drunk day Friday or Saturday.

Nute, do you really plan on getting any work done this weekend?

They do private parties, the only problem with most restaurants is that it is usually not in their best interest to host a party if you don't want a dinner / buffet, and you have to have good, confirmed numbers of people.
