An entertaining anecdote
I was at my cottage one weekend with the family. I was about 11 and my little cousin was about 4, and already losing her baby teeth!
I was laying on my back, reading a book on the couch, when suddenly I felt little tiny fingers tickling the hell out of my neck. Unfortunately, my autonomic response was to fling my arm back and hit her...
I whipped around the second I felt my palm make contact with something hard (not soft and fleshy as one would hope). Staring back at me was my little cousin, with a state of shock and disbelief painted clearly on her face. Her lips began trembling as she opened her mouth. Out poured about two tablespoons of blood and her formerly-loose tooth. She started to cry.
Sure I felt like shit at first. You would too. The realization that finally hit me (about four hours later) was that it WAS really loose. She wasn't eating hard foods because, for whatever reason, she had a phobia of losing her teeth. The new one was already popping out of the skin once the baby tooth was gone. The blood was not from the knocking of the tooth itself, but from a cut on her lip she received upon impact.
The End.
