This is the hotel we are going with. I got the conference schedule finally. My presentation is Friday evening from 5-7 PM. I am doubting that I will go to the Saturday conference for a couple of reasons, the least of which is not because it costs double for registration and there doesn't really look like anything very interesting going on. The fact that there is a pissup starting that weekend is entirely irrelevant.

What we REALLY need to start doing is getting roommates squared away. I think it would be best if we could get everyone on board by the first week of February. My idea is that we work together to figure out how many rooms we need by Saturday FEBRUARY 9th when we will make a group reservation to try to get a bunch of rooms close together.

It is my hope that someone will volunteer to do this as I don't want to have to from Japan unless absolutely necessary. After this first round of reservations, all stragglers are on their own. I'm not sure how feasible this is, as each room probably requires a credit card to hold it (or maybe not if you check in before 6 PM) but maybe we can still get the rooms held in a block and then one person from each room can call in and lock it down financially.

Right now I am planning on being there from the nights of Thursday Feb 28-Sunday March 3rd (with a possible extension to March 4th if enough people are staying together to allow me to afford the room that many days.) From what I gather, Goatboy and Smug are planning on staying with me. I need confirmation on this as well as what nights you are planning on sharing the room charge. We have room for at least 2 more, so if anyone is arriving early, sign up now. I want to share as much as possible, as the yen sucks ass right now and this trip is extremely expensive for me.

So there we are. Let's try to keep so visible order here so that we can see how many rooms we need and who is in them. Thus far:

I'll officially "mention" this to my parents to see what they have to say (aka: will they give me money and a blessing, or am I going to have to hoard money for the next few weeks, and come down anyway).
Dat and I are desperately trying to scrape together everything we'd need to make it. So, two of us are probably going to need a few roomies.
We'd only be there friday and saturday nights.

if i do come, it'll only be for saturday. i would drive up sat. morning, arrive in the afternoon, and leave sunday afternoon. i'm still unsure if i can, though. i have a meeting in Dallas that week, and i return that thursday evening. i have to clear it with my DM to be out of my store for five days- three for the meeting, then sat and sun right afterwards. she's been temperamental lately. we'll see.

I guess we are going from friday to sunday, it all depends on whomever I have a ride with.

I must share a room with chantrea, and brim if he goes (he still isnt sure with money and work yet)

Anyone can share a room with us if they dont mind us having a shot or two (in the privacy of our own room, behind closed doors.)

I would prefer to keep the price of the room to $20-$30 a night if possible, I am an incredibly broke highschool kid, so anyone looking for a cheap room and can handle the aforementioned, that would be wonderful

I think there is either a pull-out couch or a cot for the 5th body. Double beds fit two people, unless Dacarlo is in one of them. Homophobes can sleep over and under.
