I'm still willing to go into NYC for a bit on saturday morning/afternoon....but only if someone else goes too (I will not be alone in my van with Dingle)

Yeah, I think there was some explosion or something there a while ago that caused some civic disruptions.

the idea was scrapped cos i was the single person who wanted to go, and it was causing problems. if im not the single solitary person and some other wish to go to NYC i will gladly go.

Man, one drunken argument with Phil and all of a sudden I'm the party pooper around here. Just ain't fair.
Anyway, I'm not saying don't go. Hell, if you do I may tag along. I'm just warning you that it could be a monumental pain in the ass. It'll essentially mean that you end up trapped in the car for the lion's share of Saturday with not a whole lot to show for it, that's my guess anyway.
Just giving a warning, is all, not trying to kill any plans. And hopefully if you get a person or two who are more NYC-savy than I am (Goatboy for instance) it'll be a lot better.
Maybe I should shut up in this forum and just show up drunk and horny.
Dammit, I sure better get head.

i may not know what i'm talking about, but i'd guess Philly would have a pretty solid public transportation system to the biggest city in the country (is it? LA could be bigger), and according to e4 i think she said it's 2 hours by car which could mean much less by train.

I think that by far the cheapest way to NYC by train is to go to Trenton and then get NJ state transit to Penn station, NYC. Avoid Amtrak if you can, it is much more expensive as I recall. I have done Princeton Junction to Philly for about $17 or something and about $15 from Princeton to NYC (both for return journeys). on the downside, that may take a little over two hours that way, but it is cheaper I think than amtrak.
