I dunno, it just seems a couple of people have made death threats and physical threats in chat and even on the forum and they will be there, to single tack out seems a bit unfair.

Ok, I guess maybe I should chime in here. I don't know what to think about what tack said. At the time, I really didn't take the throat slitting seriously. His threat to bring a gun did worry me, but I certainly didn't want to stir up any trouble. I didn't even complain to anyone about it. But with him also telling someone that he was going to kill MstrG, I think we need to at least consider the possibility that he is planning on doing something stupid and dangerous.

We want this meet to be safe and problem free. Who knows what's really going on in his head. It would be best if he just doesn't come.

the point of making this public, even if tack generally isn't taken seriously, and even if people think it's unnecessary is as follows:

a alot of people are meeting in real life, and most for the first time. The Asylum is hosting this event, simply because we are a corporation that has sponsored and faciliated the planning of the gathering. Even though we don't make a dime by owning and running this company, we do have legal rights and responsibilities, and warning people of a possible threat to their lives at a sponsored event is one of them. In the admittedly unlikely event something did happen, and we had prior knowledge, do you think we want to stand in front of a judge and try to explain why we never said anything? i damn well know i dont.

i dont have much against tack, i rather like the kid, but there are lines that have been crossed.

My take on this is as follows:

tack has jokingly said to me ONLY IN PUBLIC that he was going to rape my corpse. It's certainly not the nicest thing anyone has said to me, but the possibility of it was pretty close to nil. No biggie, but he's never said that in private to me. To my knowledge, he doesn't talk in private to people about how he wants to do my dead body or something. There is a big difference between saying stuff in public and saying it in private.

But...whether he says it in public or private, nobody needs this shit when meeting up for the first time. He hasn't been around enough lately for newer people to get to know him, so some random guy who shows up after joking about a gun may not be so fun for everyone. The point of the meet-up is to have fun, not to look over one's shoulder constantly. Dangerous situations happen anyway; why invite trouble?

Additionally, I don't see the need to turn this into a "free speech riot." This isn't about mean old people repressing teenagers (who probably shouldn't be at an adult meet-up anyway, for the most part). It's about a group of people protecting themselves and others from a possible danger.

Maybe, for a nice change, people could start looking at such actions as thoughtful, rather than repressive.

I always found tack to be quite a nice young guy when not in public. I doubt he is anything to worry about in that sense. Still you never can tell....

I guess in using this reasoning I will be forced in to calling the cops if Caffeine shows up seeing has he threatens me physically every other day...even while I was pregnant which means he probable isn’t above hurting my children as well...He even expressed joy in their possible death a couple times, and seeing as how I would probably get in more trouble defending myself against some ignorant teen than he would for initiating it, I think its probably in my best interest.

I am being sarcastic if you couldn’t tell…(I have the highest respect for MstrG and everyone knows that) tack in his situation has expressed it was banter, a joke to rile people up a couple times in that log, Caffeine has never once said he didn’t mean it or it was a joke I just figured he was a mindless coward on the other side of a monitor…who knows, maybe he’s not.
