This Hotel Bullshit

OK, I seem to be getting hassled left right and centre about this fucking issue and its starting to piss me off. Apparently I have no valid reasons for wanting to stay at the Holiday Inn other than limey stubborness.

When I planned this trip to Philly it was on the basis that we would be staying in a central hotel. I have had shelled out alot of money to come to America on this basis. The idea of staying in the original capital of the US and meeting some of you guys, getting drunk, and then coming home. Not forgetting I have a fiance that I am not bringing, but whom I had to convince it was ok for me to go.

I arranged the flights, UJ booked them, I have paid for a car, I have booked a hotel. Now I am being told that I will not enjoy myself at the HI because 'everyone' is going to the Super 8. The funny thing is that this whole meetup seems to be following this gameplan.

Saturday: All meetup in Philly (Dave and Thingy) get drunk, leave the bar at 2am when it shits.

It is only the 'afterwards' that appears to be the issue. This is because we are all gonna get drunk in the hotle rooms? Well no offence guys, but that is not my idea of a good time. First off, when I go back to the hotel I intend to sleep in my room. I/we will be jetlagged for a start and still hvaing bodyclock problems. I don't want to go back to a 'student halls of residence' which is the feeling I get about what it will be like. Sorry but I am nearly 27, I just don't do that anymore.

On top of this, Saturday night is in Philly. This mean I can stagger/walk home. Not have the hassle of finding a cab. Because if we leave at 2am, by the time people are organisied and cabs are found it is is gonna be 3am before ppl even get back to the Super8.

What I am saying is this. If everyone that is currently booked in the Holiday Inn changes their reservation then I guess I will be forced too. But unitl then, I do not see why I should. There seems to me to be no logical reason to do so. I know it would be cheaper, but seeing as it is I that is actually paying for it and then getting the money back from the others I don't care. If they take six months to pay me their £30 then so be it.

If Thursday night arrives. That is 10pm GMT and there are still people in the HI then I will be. If I am not told by this time I will not be cancelling, coz the next day I will be flying.

edit note: This whole hotel thing is really pissing me off btw.

I am also rather fucked off; there was no definite hotel when I booked (when sp00ky booked the marriot was semi-definite; we changed because the rates weren't available, but the point was that it was central), but my understanding was that it was going to be central. This was predicated on my understanding that we would all be going out in Philly in bars; if this has changed and this is why peole want to stay at the super8, because they want to do drinking there rather than in Philly, then I am pretty disappointed, to tell the truth.

I still have no idea why people are making a fuss.

The Holiday Inn is centrally located and far more convenient FOR PEOPLE THAT HAVE TRAVELLED 3500 MILES TO COME DRINK WITH YOU INGRATES.

I couldent give a fuck myself where we end up.
But drinking in my room? I can do that at home and not worry about having gun toting foreign cops knocking down the door at 3am when I'm pissy drunk.. I'd get shot for sure.

I can see where Sp00kys coming from as he has to drive down to HELL'S and don't need me shitting on his pillows in a drunken stooper... again...

I think we should stop worrying about who's going where when and how..

i simply don't care. at first i was a 'lets change to super 8' kind a guy. now i dont mind either way. im not planning on geting drunk anyways. i just want to meet people, go shopping and enjoy my time (maybe hit NYC if enough people want to do it, otherwise not) but again getting drunk in rooms is something i don't do. HI is much closer in to town and i think the walking distance thing is a good idea. especially as im a tourist and ive never been to merca before, i want to stay in a place where tourists would stay, not a higway motel. on the flipside it would be cooler if everyone was in the same place.
