The new David Lynch Site has just opened. Starting tomorrow, March 5th, the site is taking entries for the "Lunch With Lynch" contest. You win a flight to LA and a meal with mr. lynch at Bob's Big Boy.

I'm guessing he'll only be ordering a vanilla shake.

After Mulholland Drive, I am not sure I could handle a lunch like that. Not with what lives in back of the diner.

I bet I know which Bob's Big Boy. I bet the original one. I went there with my ex-boyfriend and his parents when I first met them. His dad bought me a plastic Bob's Big Boy bank. I hid it in the garage because if I ever believed anything had bad vibes, it was that.

Not because of the parents or anything, because it was Bob's Big Boy. Smiling at you.

And oh my god. You know, until now I'd forgotten that I used to eat at one with a giant Bob's Big Boy statue standing outside the front door. When I was a child. Regularly. LA.

Yep, I looked at the site and sighed when I saw the $9.95 per month.

well, at least the site offers eraserhead and his short film collection on DVD.

I remember watching some documentary about Lynch where somebody, i think it was his ex-wife or Jack Nance, said that every day during the filming of one thing or another, Lynch would go to Bob's Big Boy and order only a vanilla milkshake. every day. I think they were trying to illustrate something about his obsessive-compulsiveness or some other neurosis. This was followed by the interviewer asking Lynch if he had ever considered visiting a therapist. He said that he had, once. At the beginning of the first session, he asked if therapy could possibly restrict his creativity. The therapist replied in the affirmative. Lynch thanked the therapist for his/her time, and left.
