Mortality......BOOO!!!

I just buried a squirrel that got hit by a car in front of my house.
She had teats like she has been nursing, does anyone know if this the season for them to have babies?
Not that I could find them to try and save them if I wanted to though, she might be the one who lived in the pillar on my porch, but I’m not sure how I would get the babies out, god this fucking sucks.
Maybe I should just stop thinking about it since being depressed and tearing up when I think about the babies starving and waiting for their mothers to come home is futile. I wonder if her last thought before death was about her babies…anyway, any one know if its season for them?

Yes. This is the season. I have squirrels in my attic. They scale my nut tree out front and found a whole near my gutter. We notice there was pink insulation in the tree. Im sure it is a mess up there. They have definately multiplied. We are cutting the tree back so this doesn't happen again, but haven't had the heart to do it yet.

Cal is a good guy, the more I find out about him the more impressed I am and the more respect I gain for the guy.
Helping a farmer get rid of a very destructive animal doesn’t make him lose any ground in my eyes, nor does him being a hunter.
I like the squirrels that live in my trees and in my porch but if the were a threat to the well being of my family I would be stomping some squirrel arse. They are not good eatin either

The squirrels where I live are way to agressive because people think "Ohhhh! cute little rodent" then they feed the damn vermin and then have the nerve to complain when the little bastards infest the attic, crawl spaces, or whatever. The death of a litter of squirrels is no great loss on the cosmic scale of things. It is nice to see that some people are compassionate to care, even if it is for urban pests. How about that poor misunderstood cockroach?

We have a ton of squirrels at LSU- they're all over. Yes, spring is the time when they breed, but by this late, we've already got little kid-squirrels running around. If it's much comfort to you, the same is probably true there. The squirrel probably did have babies, but by now they're old enough to forage on their own.
