Fatboy Slim's Weapon of Choice, featuring a unique dance by Hollywood star Christopher Walken, has been named the greatest video ever made.

It topped a poll of music industry experts, beating classics like Michael Jackson's Thriller which came in at number six.



Fatboy Slim, aka British DJ Norman Cook, also makes the top 20 with Praise You.

Both that video and Weapon of Choice were directed by Spike Jonze.

Virtual Insanity

The American also took the runner-up spot for Beastie Boys' Sabotage, in which the band dress up like Seventies American cops.

Virtual Insanity by Jamiroquai - featuring lead singer Jay Kay dancing on a moving floor - makes it to number three in the poll for music channel VH1.

Blur's Coffee & TV, with its walking milk carton, is at number four while Radiohead's Street Spirit comes in one place below.

'Making a baby'

Cook said: "This is the biggest award I've ever received, really it is.

"But I want to dedicate this to Spike Jonze and Christopher Walken because I was at home making a baby at the time they made the video."

Hundreds of votes were collated for the chart with musicians, video-makers and figures from the music industry involved

Tool videos are cool, but all roughly the same. I can't remember in my mind what song had the meat in the pipe and which had the water, but I guess they are cool.

I like the Chemical Brothers Setting Sun video.

I thought Jeremy was a weak video.

Weapon of Choice was a neat video, but the song sucked ass.

Pearl Jam's "Do the Evolution" is easily the greatest video ever made.

Following Paints lead...

"Do the Evolution" is the best.

"Rabbit in your Headlights" by Unkle is terrific.
"I'm affraid of Americans" with David Bowie and Reznor is up there.
Bjork's "All is full of Love" by Chris Cunningham is beautiful.
TOOL videos are awesome, but "Sober" is by far the best.
"Coffee and TV" is, I agree, a kick ass video.
Faith No Mores "Last cup of Sorrow" and "Small Victory" were my favorite videos for a long time.

Can't think of more right now.

"Rabbit In Your Headlights" is really good too... I'm fairly partial to the video for Radiohead's "Just" because I love the composition, as well as the fun concept.

I love Weapon of Choice. When I first saw that video I was enthralled. I just can't get enough of it. There's also a really good one by I believe Kemet? I had never heard of the band, but it's got these little sad alian-type people in it with goggles, and one of them makes happy pills from a glow that comes from his insides. I love that video. If anyone knows who it is, I'd love to know.

I miss my Vh1.

The video for "one" is the only video i've ever gone out and paid money for.

I attribute it's kick-assness to Johnny Got His Gun rather than hetfield, et al. any flick with amputee sex and Donald Sutherland as Jesus can't be bad.

also, "Do the Evolution" is on the Travelling Band 2000 (i think that's the name) DVD. so go rent it just for that.
