nwe zealand metal

not that many of you care, because not many of you listen to metal, but new zealand is a relatively small country that gets ignored by most major countries in the world, no one is really aware of the thriving underground music scene we have, and what bands are in it. so here are some of them.

blood wreath
technical death metal. when they first started out, they had some melodic stuff, but that got stripped away and replaced by sheer speed and brutality. the mp3s dont really reflect this, but ive seen these guys live about 6 or 7 times now, and they are fucking brutal.

dawn of azazel
heavily influenced by morbid angel, carcass and cryptopsy, they are all solid musicians (tony the drummer also drums for malevolence which i will mention later) who never cease to amaze.

misled by lies
one of my favourite metal bands in new zealand. they are more a metalcore band, influenced by poison the well and that sort of stuff, but phil has some of the harshest vocals ive ever heard. they sadly broke up. they have some preview tracks of their up and coming cd on oneohfive records (http://www.misledbylies.orcon.net.nz/main.html) but it pales in comparison to the stuff that used to be on their mp3.com site. if you really want to hear it, email me at removed and ill arrange some songs for you, you wont be dissapointed.

(as you can see, vocalist = guitarist from bloodwreath. how incestuous).

malevolence
this band fucking rules, influenced by everything from skitsystem to dystopia, brutal truth to motorhead. when brutal truth came to new zealand and malevolence opened for them, b.t. were so impressed they asked malevolence to be on a tribute cd. their mp3 site has some of their stuff, but if you want the brilliant stuff, search for them on audigalaxy. download:
brotherhood of christ
hunters of the red moon
oceans of fire
diabolical eve

falciform
fucking technical, fucking brutal. download falciform off of their contagion album. http://www.falciform.net/audio/audio.html

k, please check these out, as very few of them ever get recognised outside of new zealand.

thanks.
