dream interpretation, anyone?

Two nights in a row of strange and very vivid dreams I’ve had. This follows on the heels of some other equally vivid dreams that I haven’t made note of.

Last night I dreamed that downtown Minneapolis was attacked and essentially leveled a la 9-11 (sans planes). I was looking out at the skyline from a distance and heard a cracking noise. Suddenly the buildings began tumbling down – this was all in color and very real to me at the time. Then the dream progressed into sort of a post-apocalyptic adventure story with a small group of us, including Matt, riding around in cars and on horseback and being chased by some people periodically. There was also a recurring theme of swarms of bees attacking us with little damage done. I was, incidentally, very good on horseback.

There was a portion of the dream in which I returned to our apartment downtown and climbed around in the rubble and looked through our living room window at the toppled buildings around us. The whole dream was very sad in some ways, and very stimulating in others. There was no sexual aspect to this dream as far as I can remember.

Night before last I dreamed that I was involved with Prince William, and I was drinking whiskey with him and his brother. William, however, was also identified in my mind with Brooks, a childhood friend of mine, and we were something of an item in the dream. They were doing their best to keep me hid from the rest of the royals throughout the dream, though I think it was common knowledge that I was around. I felt very naughty for behaving that way with royalty, in my defense, and I woke up thinking that I had been drinking. I haven’t had a drink in a while, and I think perhaps that has something to do with it. Drinking dreams are not unfamiliar to me, though it’s been a while since I had one.

I am on two antibiotics, though I just started taking them last night. I don’t know if that had anything to do with last night’s dream, but it couldn’t have affected the one before. They diagnosed me at the hospital with diverticulitis yesterday, and perhaps the infection has been providing me with this nocturnal entertainment.

Hey Mug. You haven't by chance been listening to "Blame It On The Bossa Nova"?

Amen.

One of my chief regrets in my hurried exit from Texas was leaving my bossa nova record in Charlie Brown's closet. No kidding.

I have the BEST dreams. They have to mean SOMETHING. Try some dream interpretation sites -- you might be surprised. Your mind is just taking things from your conscious and subconscious and trying to make sense of it; maybe as a warning, maybe as a way of telling you something you haven't really thought about.

I take a lot of medication for my back pain, and always have wild dreams. I think there's definitely a connection; how can there not be? Especially narcotics...they mess with you and make you think and dream of crazy things, all based on fleeting and subconscious thoughts and wishes.

According to Freud's "Dreams - a cigar is not just a cigar" your dream about the Minneapolis skyline falling down is merely a reflection of your own impotence. (Think hard, were there any deflated balloons in your dream?) The bees are obviously an image from Gov. Ventura's role in "Predator."

The dream about Prince William is a little more complicated, and needs more details to be interpreted correctly. As it is now, barring any sexual shenanigans or phallic images, you were just expressing a deep desire to dress like Princess Di and pour whisky on yourself and young blonde boys. It has more to do with WHY you're taking the antibiotics than merely because you're taking them. If you have a dream about being a catcher's mitt filled with blue mayonnaise, call me.

(Hey Mug, this is Ed BTW)

Glad to see you're leading a point-less existence like me. I'd have thought you'd accrue at least a pervert point or two by now. You're pretty fucked up. Maybe you're being a bit conservative over here. Like any true perv, it's best to keep it under wraps until you can put that "element of surprise" to good use, like that thing you did with the nuns in the mall.

Can't tell you too much about your dreams, though I too have post apocalyptic dreams. It's one of the most reoccuring themes in my dreaming (that along with starting a revolution in a big brother type world and flying.) Not sure what it means, but hey at least it makes for some interesting dreamin.
And yeah, I've noticed that when I'm sick and/or on meds my dreams often get more vivid.

Mugtoe,
your dreams convey anxiety over your place in society. You want to fit in buy you must be true to yourself. It is normal to have these wants, it's part of your humanity.

On the other hand, if an infection is affecting your dreams you could be getting meningitis! I would mention the dreams and their timing to your doctor. Better safe than sorry!

Dreams are best interpreted by the dreamer, because everyone's personal symbolism is different.

if you are into this kinda thing, go to someone in a small pagan shop and get a card reading on your dream, they might be able to help you figure it out.

But it's my guess that you're just working out stress and fears thru your dreams. That is quite common.

BTW, although I do think William is the best lookin Windsor in many generations, I have had no sexual thoughts about him or any of the other royals. He's too young, and he ain't really my type. I did wonder to myself, however, what the hell he was doin in my dreams. I don't usually even give those folks a second thought, and they haven't figured in my consciousness at all of late, if ever.
