Angry Wanna be successful in life?

Don't study your ass off for a final exam, and then get the time of the test mixed up, and miss the exam alltogether.

This has always been a fear of mine; that i'll somehow screw up the time for a test and miss it. Around exam times I always get kind of paranoid and check the times for the tests over and over again, just in case.

haha. i do that too, obsessively. my biggest fear is that i'll sleep through my exam. i've had so many nightmares about that. it actually happened to a friend of mine. even though i've graduated i still wake up sometimes convinced that i'm missing an exam.

I never had that problem.
I missed a few exams, even slept through a couple.
But my grades were fine and I just kinda went to college.
No fear.....

I missed most of an exam once. It was the final for my intro to anthropology. The funny thing is that in all honesty, the power went out and the alarm didn't go off (the final was at 8 a.m.). The professor didn't believe me at first but I pleaded my case and finally won him over. The exam was to end at 10 a.m. and I had arrived at 9:30. It was a multiple choice exam so I was breezing through it. At 10, he stopped the test and I had 2 questions left to answer. He made a big to do about me going to finish it in his office and stuff. I was trying to tell him that I only needed two more questions and that I could finish it there. He wouldn't let me, snatched the test out of my hands and he me and another late student who lived in the same dorm as me walk to his office. I thought it was perhaps the most inane thing ever. Anyway, grades finally come in and I notice that I only have 8 units instead of 12. The class that wasn't listed was my anthro class. I wondered what was up and then decided that it was probably for the better considering all the different things that had happened in that class that were working against me (this is the class where the prof also caught me snoozing during class). Nonetheless, I was put on Academic Probation contract since I had fallen under units. The next quarter, I was on the Dean's Honour List...I rule.

Yes, thankfully... i slipped him a note under his door to his office, and then called him (just to make sure) when i got home. He said i could go in tomorrow to take the make-up exam, which will be more difficult than the normal one. But i figure i deserve that for being so absent-minded.

Only way i figure is that instead of writing down 11:00 in my book, i wrote down 1:00. As for double-checking my final exam schedule, this is where i can do it: http://www.cs.qc.edu/Spring2002/finalSchedule.html

Heh. They say misery loves company, so I'll share this with ya ~

I had a final in Humanities set for 8:00 a.m. When I opened my eyes, my clock said 8:45 a.m. I woulda had a heart attack right then and there, except I was too busy throwin' on some clothes and runnin' up the hill to the classroom.

On the way up, I rehearsed several "explanations" to give my professor, hoping I could come up with one that'd persuade him to let me take the final, albeit late.

He was walking out the door when I arrived, huffing and puffing. He look at me and smiled, but before he could say anything, I said, "Mr. Seig. On the way up here, I went over several good stories, trying to decide which one to tell you in hopes that you'd excuse my tardiness and let me take the test. The truth is, however, I just flat out overslept."

He replied that if I'd told him anything else, he woulda flunked me. He let me take the test and I got an "A" for the course.

Ooops. Bad luck. Will they let you sit a special?

I got an exam date wrong once - I woke up at 8.50 thinking I had an exam at 9.00. I ran to university in my pyjamas and a coat - arrived at the room I thought I was in, and it wasn't my exam. I paniced and ran around campus frantically for half an hour trying to find the right room, finally an old guy figured out that I had the right day, right room number - but the wrong week. Fortunately I was a week ahead of myself rather than behind, so I actually was on top of my study for once . It was a horrid experience though, and you have my sympathy.
