OK guys, time to predict the scoreline. I know all us limeys got it wrong against Portugal. The Americans came out to that game knowing they had to play their best game, the Portugese came out thinking they could play a mediocre game and still win, they got fucked over for making such a bad mistake. But the USA is not through yet and tomorrow they face South Korea.
A month ago I would have said the USA will walk this game. Why? Well South Korea were not really considered to be anything special, they have done less than the US have ever done in the tournaments history. But, they got a 1-1 draw against England and then a 2-2 against France (true Henry and Zidane were not playing, but on paper France should still have won it comfortably). The South Koreans, like the Japnese today have shown that they can play football when they are at home. This is not gonna be a walk over, but I think that the US can win if they push hard.
The problem though, again liek the problem with the Japnese is the attacks they make on the counter. The US is gonna have to be careful (as is anyone that faces these two asian tigers) of their pace and speed on the counter strike. This said I am gonna boldly predict a very fast, end to end game. I am not gonna predict the exact score but say that its a one point game. Both teams need three points, but a draw is what I think will happen. I would like the US to get three points and qualiy automatically for the second round, but a point will be the probable outcome, and it should not be frowned upon because it will still place the US in a strong position to qualify going into the last first round game.
I have already sacrificed a lamb, smeared my body with its blood and paid tribute to the great gods of soccer by doing the bus stop and the shackle to the sounds of rappers delight for a win...or at least some mercy.
